Do the pads and knobs on the Akai work with the animoog?

Thank you, finally someone uses a midi controller with this thing. I have been putting off buying a midi controller, but I am now going to buy one just for this application.

Input: Akai MPK Mini -> Powered USB hub (to power the akai) -> iPad Camera Connector -> iPad
Output: iPad Jack -> M-audio Profire 2626 front inputs 1/2 -> Logic
