  • this one of the best zelda commercials

  • name of music?

  • ages will always be my favorite zelda game

  • Just beat Seasons, working on Ages. Gotta say, this was one freakin' epic commercial

  • Hate to ask, but does anyone know the music thats being placed durring this? I have been trying to find it for years.

  • OoT N64 has better graphics than fucking Twilight Princess.

  • @Silverpistol81

Oracle of Seasons/Ages has better graphics than OOT

  • who cares what the graphics looked like back then, do you really think in 1998 they could made the game look like Twilight princess. I thought oracle of seasons/ages was cute by the way it looked. some of you people are to obese about games having to look so high tech and very detail.

  • I wish it had those graphics >.< But that would be impossible... game boy color :<

  • thumbs up if you prefer seasons

  • easily the best zelda games to come out on a hand held device and you fight gannon after you connect both so epic !

  • Wow, that was actually a good Zelda commercial.

  • Man that was like a decade ago! I remember i was freaking out of just seeing the Commercial I was like I MUST HAVE IT! and i have BOTH of them Still :D ahh i was 9 years old so i bought it in wallmart for Xmas :) on that same year!

  • i just wish they did they third one for Farore

  • @nightmareofshadowvil they originally had three games, until someone said "fuck it" and this is what we got.

  • @tenorguy93 actually it would off been too confusing sadly

  • Comment removed

  • Holy crap, I completely forgot about this. I remember seeing this commercial way back when I was super obsessed with Ocarina of Time and thinking it was so bad ass. Now it's just... LOL. But still kinda neat and nostalgic.

  • remake both games for the 3ds!!!

  • i forgot how interesting watching nintendo commercials were :)

  • link's voice 0_o

  • I remember seeing this commercial thinking, "Why can't they make a Zelda game that looks just as good as that?" -- But now, looking back on it... the CG artwork in this is terrible.

  • lol a harp takes him back in time? how original xD

  • This is an awesome commercial but it has one major flaw. It leaves me feeling like I want to do this so I buy the game and thus the game will leave me feeling like I didn't get to do any of this cool stuff.

  • I would die a happy man if they remade this on a newer console..

  • Must... replay... games...

  • this commercials 3d quality is that of TLOZ skywardsword yet the actuall games sprite quality is that of what comes out of peoples buts

  • Now THAT... was epic. This is my favorite Zelda comerical and I haven't even played this game. XD

  • MY FAVE ZELDA GAME-SEASONS!

  • i can remember seeing this for the first time when i was home sick from school one day. freaked out haha

  • it a Great game for gameboy coler standers

  • Odd, the art style is like TP.

The Hourglass makes think of PH.

  • I love the commercial -- I believe that Oracle of Seasons/Ages would do even better on a 3D console with all the care given to them that the other titles received. Capcom kind of got the pointy end of the stick considering what they had to work with was the limited capacity of the GBC.

By the way, Ages took me ages because the puzzles are REALLY FUCKING HARD. I hope Skyward Sword has puzzles just as hard.

Also, why hasn't Roc's feather been ported into any of the 3D games? =[

  • @uBeR1337gUy I agree. I want more puzzles like the ones seen in OoA.

  • If only the game was as awesome as the commercial

  • @WillPk4FOOD if only you werent such a bitch.

  • @mrapple8

Yeah, if I wasn't then people wouldnt get so butthurt over a comment.

  • @WillPk4FOOD seriously! like the commercial concept could spawn an entirely different game in itself. if only the third unmade game would be released on the wii~ now that would be awesome!

  • This was the best Zelda commercial I had ever seen, i remember catching this commercial as a kid......just wow....

  • I guess this commercial proves that the Link from these games is the same one from Ocarina of time and Majora's Mask.

  • @MrJackal95 Not at all, how is a commercial canon to the timeline?

  • I'm actually doing a Let's Play on these great games right now! Come by and check it out haha! :)

  • I remember seeing this commercial when I was a kid. I loved these games

  • omg

  • Link looks like Oot link, but somehow looks like TP link.......

    Good job! :)

  • my favorite hand held game ever!

  • Oh my god, it has been SO long since I saw this! I was maybe 9 when this happened? Now I'm 18! This brings back so many memories!

  • One of the best commercials I've ever seen. Does anybody know where the music is from? I think it's not from Conan this time - Conan was used for Ocarina of Time and the first Twilight Pincess Commercial for GC.

  • This is epic. Though I actually prefer the japanese version, since it's far more realistic.. you know... it doesn't make up a false gameplay. Hell, these type of graphics are only shown in Twilight Princess. And not even then is it so detailed. The American publishers lie yet again.

  • They should've said at the starting: not actual gameplay.

  • Link if my favorite hero!!! IF THERE WAS A HERO I COULD BE, IT WOULD BE HIM!!!

  • what the heck did that mouth just say?

  • give in to it

  • @renzofthedungoens you sure it's not

    "get into it?"

  • @voltex12345

    get in to it

  • I add that hisshield is really too small for him on the other hand lol

  • Lol, I like the presentation of these Zelda's new versions (finally more so new now xD), I love too much when he uses the spectre to change seasons, really well made the video of the presentation, but it's a pity which both versions do not make that one, to use the spectre to change seasons and harp to travel in the time, as the video which ^^

    Good video!

  • I prefer Link from Twilight princess xD Oooh he looks excelent.... xD TP is the only Zelda game i've played, but i've seen the characters of the other versions and I really think that TP is the best :D :D

  • @Arquive Ocarina of Time has been named the greatest game of ALL TIME by....everyone. TP was a failed attempt to 'one up' its predecessor in just about every aspect. If you honestly think TP is the best in the series when you haven't even played any other zelda games, then you're just fooling yourself.

  • Well... maybe you didn't understand what I said. If you see, I was talking about the characters appearance. ^ ^ Not about the game content. :)

  • Sorry, I misunderstood you. I would still recommend playing OoT, though.

  • Hehe no problem ^^ However... Now I know that I should never say TP is the best if I haven't played the others xDDD Well... I downloaded OoT... And I'm gonna try the game :D :D

  • TP is just full of teen alluring content, so all the kids go "wooo cool".

Zelda OOT was pure class in every pixel.

Zelda OOT was pure conent and pure fun, and nice graphics for the age to boot.

TP is like many movies and games nowadays, just studied to make teens wet their pants thru fireworks yet subpar content compared to the games of old.

  • @Ifrianpsu You sure that's not your nostalgia talking?

  • @Ifrianpsu This commercial is for the Oracle games, not OoT or TP.

  • @Ifrianpsu

Yeaaah no. OoT was a great game for its time, but ultimately was just a copycat of LttP. Twilight Princess is far better in a great deal of ways: it had actually developed characters, a relationship between Link and a supporting lead, a motivation and drama tied to the quest beyond "save the world!", and had a far better art direction compared to OoT's generic semi-realistic anime art style. The music was top notch, the dungeons were well designed, and the story was captivating.

  • @ChristopherTheKnight And that is actually why i consider TP to be inferior.

Miyamoto himself said he made his Zelda games with as little as "forced" interaction, developement and relationship as possible because he wanted link to be.... that... a link between the player and the game world, and to allow each player to live his/her own story. It departed completely from the classic formula.

  • @Ifrianpsu

Link remained a link to the player. That is what made Twilight Princess so strong: you feel the bond with Midna and Link's friends personally. Link himself contributes nothing to the relationships, yet you feel the bond his friends have for him. In that sense, TP succeeded far greater than any other Zelda by REALLY making you feel like the hero instead of just playing as him.

Furthermore, character development and interactions with Link started in OoT, with Saria and Mido.

  • @ChristopherTheKnight I will not continue to discuss further with you because it is useless.

We obviously think very differently about this and i do not feel like spending 4 days sending messages back and forth to reach no real conclusion. I will just say i disagree with you and move on. Take care.

  • @Ifrianpsu wow four days.ouch

  • @Ifrianpsu

Ultimately I don't know what you mean by "teen alluring content", the more mature and edgy look was not first used in Twilight Princess (that award goes to, what do you know, OoT, with the main selling point being the Adult time was far darker than anything else Zelda had at the time). You just sound like you couldn't enjoy the good things Twilight Princess had to offer becuase you were too busy being mad that it wasn't OoT. Remove the nostalgia goggles and judge TP as its own game.

  • @ChristopherTheKnight If you check all the Zeldas prior to TP, including oracles/seasons, the formula i just explained is pretty much followed in every single of them. Then they started changing it with TP and a few modern handheld titles where they started to introduce developement and interaction as you pointed out.

Do not get me wrong, i love ( i assume everyone does) relationships, developement and interaction in my games but not in Zelda, Zelda was something different and now it ain´t.

  • @Quarantine53

Not everyone. Don't generalize. Some people even hated it.

I don't hate it, but it's not my favorite Zelda game. That would be MM, them a tie between WW and TP, then MC, then OoT. It wasn't that great - really good, but not incredible.

Honestly, I believe the only reason people say that OoT is the best game ever is because their nostalgia glasses are on a little too tight.

  • ah man, talk about misleading xD they should totally make a 3-d version that lives up to this advertisement!

  • @keniakittykat Yeah, would make to great games when 3D. Same for other old Zeldas. And older 3D's like OOT with better quality, i would buy them for sure =)

  • so many memories

  • Your right... I'm sorry. I take full response for my actions...

I've just heard a lot of things lately having a tough time at school... well sorry. It is a little weird though... sorry again...

  • Hey, I remember this. This was one of my favorite Zelda commercials.

  • Mine too.

  • DUDE ITS ON THE GBC!!!! AND YOU HAVE TO IMPLEMENT CONTROLS FOR LINK TO MOVE ON YOUR OWN WILL

CGI CAN'T DO THAT IN THIS STAGE OF GAMING

AND ALL I HERE FROM PEOPLE IS "Oh its not 1080p. it must be TERRIBLE" WELL GRPAHINCS DON'T MATTER IT ISTHE EPICNESS OF THE GAME THAT MATTERS

  • Have had both games for ages and never played them. So I've started Seasons and plan on playing Ages next. Great games

  • oh man i remember seeing this commercial as a kid

  • Its 20 times better than japanese commercial

  • i bought oracle of season on my birthday in 2002 and i still play it

  • @cafiremage2 I brought Ocacle of Ages for my birthday hah.

  • @cafiremage2 foreveralone.jpg :(

  • I thought the hourglass was from Phantom Hourglass :-D

  • This is my favorite Zelda Commercial they have ever done.

  • What about the one for Majoras Mask?

  • was that the phantom hourglass?

  • seriosuly, has there evr been a bad zelda game? i think not

  • yes yes there has been, and i shall only mention this once, zelda CDi look it up

  • No, those are not to be mentioned. We shall not speak of them.

It's a bit like saying The Dark Lord's name in Harry Potter

  • I have never played the CD-i games and never will.

  • too true too true too true

scince they did not invole Shigeru Myamoto they are not "actual" zelda plus "the legend of" is not even in the title so....

    yeah CD-i + Zelda = NOT ZELDA

  • There were the CD-i games. Bet you forgot about those.

  • It hasn't but I didn't get to that "right zelda feeling" with the minish cap

  • I remember this commercial, but I do NOT remember those lips XD

  • The commercials are EPIC, And most importantly, the games are 100% EPICNESS

  • I wish they would make a Wii remake of the Oracle of Seasons/Ages games... they remain my favorites after Ocarina , of course...

  • Man, that'd be epic.

  • this commercial was EPIC at the time(and still is).

my dad was cool enough to get me BOTH games when it came out. :D

    Ahh, good times...

  • the ending scares the shit out of me

  • Yeah the "GET IN TO IT" lips in other GBC commercials bothered me.

  • lol i know man.......

  • I REMEMBER THIS!!!!

  • It's weird if you observe the commercial. OOA and OOS have a 2D pixelated color Link in the game, because the graphics on the GBC, were dull compared to the Nintendo DS standards today. Why did they use the Ocarina of TIme Link to advertise the commercial? I wonder.

  • yea plus you never really used the Harp of Ages to restore the Master Sword...

  • omfg i remember these from when i was little (i was a 90s kid) WOOH!!

  • Man these commercials are so cheesey yet so epic at the same time

  • I remember feeling like that commercial was a dream until I found it here.

  • omg! this rules!

aah, now i want to play this in 3-d xD

  • *goes to dig up old copy of oracle of seasons*

    good times =)

  • Loved Link's awakening and was sitting there years later wondering why they hadn't done another one. Pretty shitty for them to have just re-released Link's Awakening in 'DX'. I often thought how great a sequel would be with the exact same engine. And when I first heard about oracles, I was really excited, as it did use the same engine from Link's Awakening. The games were good, but I didn't like how they had done 2. I mean, why? Niether as good as LA and both feeling a bit formulated

  • Really? I preffered both games to Link's Awakening.

  • I vaguely remember this, pretty cool still!

  • omg i've been looking all over for this.

    thank you so much

im getting such a nostalgia rush right now!

  • I remember that from second grade. It looked really cool. I still remember the tune since then.

  • Pretty fucking awsome commercial.

  • i'm still playin this game lol

  • one of the greatest let down commercials for me personally since it looked so awesome and led me to believe they where making a sequel to ocarina of time/majoras mask, the commercial itself was great though

  • one of the best commercials of all time

  • I love this trailer. It's amazing. But does anyone know the music that's playing? It's awesome too.

  • It's probably from Conan the Barbarian. Zelda trailers typically use Conan music, and if you don't hear any of the Zelda games' classic melodies, and hear singing, Conan's your best bet.

  • His voice lowered the level of mysticism in the commercial, as well as the mouth. But I still like it. The games are superb, too. My favorites.

  • This brings back lots of memories xD

  • I remember when I first saw this commercial I was at school and for some strange reason I don't remember we were watching tv some how, oh and first thing I said was "oh yeah I'm getting that"

  • Damn! I remember seeing this commercial all those years ago....makes me wanna play those games again so bad...

  • so dairy queen is sponsoring this game?

  • Wow that's pretty damn epic Zelda is so mysterious it's hard to understand the time line and the Master Sword breaking... damn Zelda owns!

  • GET INTO IT!!

  • Those games first came out when I was around 10. I had just beaten Ocarina of Time, my first Zelda game, and at that point Link was the coolest person ever. So when I saw the same Link from OoT in these commercials, I thought it was totally badass that he was in these games to. So when I went to get the game, I was so pissed off that it didn't look like him at all.

What great times those were. These two games ended up becoming two of the greatest games I've ever played.

  • that gay gay mouth. hahaha. i rebeat these two games just last week

  • aaaaaaaaaaaarg that stupid mouth again get in to it. thanks for remainding me of it :(

  • they forced their life becoz they know DAMN well dat da graphics ar not dat ill. but da commercial is till good

  • They should make all Zelda commercials 30 second pre-rendered CGI clips in which Link does something related to the story of the game. Because this commercial is EPIC WIN.

  • i thought link in oracles was a kid? why did he sound like a man in the commercial?? anyways cool commercial!

  • My dad recorded something whe4n I was 6 and this commercial was on that tape, but it got lost

  • didnt thaey only show this comecial once?

like during the june bugs marathon????

cause i have it on video, but it takes a while to watch it cause its recorded on a VHS

but anyways yah good job. =)

  • Why did they use OoT Link for this commercial? He didn't even look like that in the Oracle games, lol!

  • Freakin' sweet commercial!

  • Despite this not sounding anything like any Link from the series or not looking like the Oracle Link, it'd be badass if they made a 3D remake of the Oracle games in a style like this. The Oracle games were some of the best Zelda games and were actually rated the best GBC games for the system.

    -WiiLoZ

  • i thought he looked like ocarina adult Link.

  • I would love that! The Oracles ended up being two of my favorite games of all time, certainly my favorites on the GBC. There is just so much Zelda magic crammed into those little squares of plastic!

  • Theyre actually thinking of remaking A Link to the Past in 3-D ... But I think they should leave it as it is.. :) It'd be pretty neat though.

  • I know this, but they're only thinking about doing it. To be truthful, I honestly would rather they work on the original Wii Zelda title instead of worrying about another LttP remake.

The Oracles were good, though, and they were original for Zelda games.

They seriously get less credit than they deserve as good games.

    -WiiLoZ

  • He should have took the Hourglass for his next adventure.

  • major Deja vu! xD

    <3

  • yeah but hes not adult hes young teen in this game :P

  • That commercial gives the impression you play as adult Link. XD

  • lol phantom hourglass

  • this was how i heard about the legend of zelda series .

  • what came 1st Legend of Zelda - Oracle of Seasons or ages?

  • they were released at the same time.

  • I know but there story line in the games which came first?

  • oh...neither story is officially the first. Just whatever order you want to play them in.

  • u have to complete one of the games to understand the timeline, seasons can be first and ages second but it can also be ages first and seasons second. u get it...?

  • if you play both of them and input a linked pass word, you can fight the Twinrova sisters, who are the whole cause of both of the games. then you can see the actual ending

  • i think seasons becau when u first turn it on the sky is blue like at noon and ages is the sunset.

  • kuando m cmpre el juego tnia 10 años.jeje m ncantaba el trailer d tv

  • I remember seeing this on Saturday mornings during commercial breaks while watching cartoons.

  • Quite possible the best GBC games I've ever played...it's funny comparing the Link in this commercial to the 'cartoony' Link of today, know what I'm saying?

  • yeah, i really hate what they did to link. it's not that i don't like cel shading, it's just that they changed the entire zelda atmosphere by giving everyone that new character design. it doesn't feel like the same game.

the oracles were my favorite in the series. they captured the true feel of the original zelda. it really of felt like the way zelda was supposed to feel...they kinda ruined that vibe once ocarina of time came out (fanboys would have my head for saying that, but it's true).

  • well, its not as bad as what they did to him in the japaneese ad. in that one links looks well, see for yourself.

  • i think the oracles are my favorite games in the series too (except for maybe MM). Not because they're better necessarily, but because they were the first Zeldas I played, and the now formulaic "dungeon crawl/get item/kill boss" scheme was totally new to me at the time. After playing through TP and PH, they're both excellent games to be sure, but the mechanic is getting pretty stale.

  • This commercial was probably better than the Japanese one, especially the voice acting, the reverse part, and the part of product narration was still so that everyone can read that WAY much easier. "Get it to it" lol

  • I never get tired of watching this commercial. Link looks so cool here!

  • Did you see it on Fox Kids, Kids' WB!, Cartoon Network and Nickeldeon?

  • Ummm... maybe. I don't recall.

  • i have seasons and i want ages again i miss ages game play

  • go to doperoms, com and download it for free

  • This commercial is nothing like the game. At all. Which is what makes it great. XDD

  • the linkk from this commercial and the ages/seasons games look different. age and hairstyle

  • Loved Seasons & Ages. Never saw this commercial, though.

  • I remember being disappointed that the game was not in 3D liked they showed in the commercial.

  • I loved this commercial. Back then I would sit down and watch the commercials just to see it play over again

  • I don't know, but I think Link looks like ass in this commercial.
