i have an ornmental pond in my yard .I live in pensacola fl. It hold 5500 gallons and varies in depth from two feet to sis feet. I have some nice pacu in it along with a varied assorment of other "aquarium fish" They are voracious eaters and grow extremely fast. My largest is about eighteen inches.
i have caght a pacu on a vist to florida it turned out that people buy them as petts and then relase them into the nerest fresh water system and leave them their to mess up the eco system but they are fun to catch.
ja but they are in extinction. the wild pacu is in extinction I can tell you this cause I travel very often to argentina. In the parana river is forbidden to fish pacu... I mean that is not legal. People still fishing pacu anyway.
So what happens if you're intending to catch something else but a Pacu gets caught? Are you supposed to unhook it and let it go? or do you STILL get fined?
I heard in Catalina Island if you ACCIDENTALLY catch a garibaldi you get fined $2000 regardless of your intentions.
