except , ive a question : why Morgana is on the list ? O_O despite everything she has done (murder , betrayal , injustice and so on cause the list is too long ) , she is still surprisingly very popular (and ive seen her fans calling gwen a slut more than i can tell contrary to the other female characters's fans) idk sorry for the rant , i just dont get it at all.

@naimasophie Morgana is on the list because she receives a huge amount of misogynistic hatred, i understand you may not have seen it, but I and many others have A LOT. While she is vidded often and does has a fanbase (as many of these women such as Bonnie Bennett do) that doesn't mean she isn't called a slut and bitch, both words have a deeply misogynistic history. Morgana is not really THAT popular, and i suspect some of the popularity she does have is superficial reasons, it's the boys-

Cordelia is AMAZING, Sansa is really great, Betty is inspiring, Mary Tudor is LOVEEEE, all the wives of Hanry are admirable, each in her own way. Cersei, however, is not a really complicated character and doesn't deserve to be put next to all these amazing ladies.

Hmm, I like all of them apart from Katherine, Sansa and Martha (that last one I freely admit is irrational): Lady Edith is really starting to warm on me too.

I did enjoy Morgana - she looked like she was going to become a really complex, fascinating character, but then they apparently decided to turn her into a pantomime villain.

I would MARRY River Song. And her parents, oddly enough :')

@SilaVendethiel I think that's meant to be a part of Morgana's downfall, though. Her hatred and rage has sunk so deep into her that she's forgotten why she followed her path in the first place and it's cause her to become as powerhungry as she is. Her whole story is about moral decay.

@FantasmaLuna Agreed on that, and her downward spiral was quite well done (aside from the really, really obvious evil smirks they felt the need to include). So many adaptations have Morgan le Fay being purely evil, and at least 'Merlin' gives her a backstory, but those smirks....

Actually, have you seen or read Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley? Because in that version she isn't evil at all. Gwenhwyfar just THINKS she is because she is Wiccan.

@FantasmaLuna Yes! I love that book! Morgause and Viviane are amazing characters, they're powerful and unafraid of it. The only woman in that book I didn't like was Gwenhwyfar because she subjected herself willingly to a religion that would oppress her. Have you read any of the prequels? The women in those are typical of Bradley's heroines as well.

Morgana's my favourite and the reasons I've heard from fans of why they hate her so much are ridiculous. I like her because she's a fully developed and complex character and while one may not agree with what she does, it's clear WHY she does it.

I do, however, have my reasons for disliking Gwen, simply because she doesn't seem to be as deep a character with little to no flaws or development and I hate that it took her three seasons to do something that proves her to be a good queen.

You know what you should add to the list: hating a female character because her love interest is a character/actor you want for yourself. That's what I encountered today anyway and I just came to this collab and watched it like 10 times in a row. I'm so glad that this exists :))

I love this! Perfect editing and great choices of women. Most of these characters are hated simply to be hated. Women aren't allowed to make mistakes, have real depth and complexity like men are on fandoms. Some of the people hated surprised me - Gwen? Catelyn? I can't even think of one reason to dislike either of them. Anyway, glad you included Bonnie as I love her. Great vid!

I'm SO glad that someone put Lady Edith in this vid! She gets so much hate from Mary fans it makes me sad. I admittedly am not a Mary fan, but I don't go around bashing her either. *sigh*

I love Cordelia! One of my favorite parts of Buffy. River is awesome.

I think "she's boring" is a perfectly valid critique of Bonnie, but that isn't the fault of the character. It's the writers. They can manage to make everyone else (even the villains, and all the other witches) sympathetic or at least interesting if not lovable, but they can't manage to make me like Bonnie. I don't hate her. She just bores me. I like the actress who plays her, and I think she's lovely, but I'm still bored.

I agree that women shouldn't be hated for those reasons. The only two women on that list that I have a problem with are Marnie and Cersei.

Marnie because she becomes genocidal against all vampires, and will kill innocent people to get what she wants.

Cersei because in the books she has a very bad relationship with her husband, where she is occasionally physically abused, and after enduring that she allows her son to do even worse to Sansa.

I feel like I have legitimate reasons for disliking her, though I suppose anyone could say the same thing for Anne (at least she didn't step into Katherine's place knowing Katherine had been executed to clear the way). I love so many of these women, they are such great characters! I think one of the big reasons that female characters get hate is jealousy. You know, that character gets to be with the amazing guy, or gets to do something really awesome, and that jealousy becomes hate towards that character. It's a kind of sexism that is perpetuated by women, and that makes me really sad.

Let's just all agree to put aside "sex" or "gender" and just like or dislike a character based on their personality, ok? :D

Ok I never realized who was vidding who in this video but why are these women hated in their fandoms? Cordelia is awesome and Cersei is one tough b*tch but shes really just a mother looking out for herself and her children in a male dominated kingdom, and the sister from downton abbey, forgot her name haha, shes a great character, I was so sad when the oldest ruined her marriage prospects... ahh...enough rant...loved it all together and it looks soo good. Some of it's racism and sexism, then just plain stupid reasons like people who ship Buffy with Angel see Cordelia as a threat so they bash on her character. But I do agree with you, especially with Cersei, and it's tragic that these women aren't appreciated more than they are. There are some fan bases that love them, but the majority do hate them.

All the parts flowed beautifully, and everyone's editing was superb! The women were chosen well and represented in a positive way. It's horrible to see bashing going on, so it's nice that something like this could be done as a kind of 'stand' against it.

Wow! I loved this! Fantastic job to everyone. And the song was absolutely perfect. I find it interesting that Kate from Robin Hood isn't on here. I don't think anyone can find anything justifiable about her, lol! Anyway, I find it odd that so many of these women are hated. Alot of them I love! Like Nina, Cersei, Cordy, Sansa, Gwen, Morgana, Martha, River, Catelyn, Jane, Mary, and Kitty. At least all these women have personalities and have development. I think hating is just stupid.

Maybe one day I'll have another video or collab with the same theme and concentrate on the women left out. I too love a lot of these women, and sometimes I think it's because of their personalities and development that is why people hated them - especially if they go against, or are anything but nice to a popular hot male character. Silly reasons, but I do see it a lot

And I more than agree with you, specially case of Cercei. I really hate 'double standard'. I have to deal with them, particularly Anne or Mary's videos, and most of women in this video, too. They have standard problems. Of course, Hating them is just people's mind, but I really want people not to bash the characters.

I just despise seeing bashing, the amount of vehemence can be quite strong and I don't feel like any of these women deserve that, and I don't know how aware of fandoms you are, but you'll often see that men never get trashed on in quite the same way.

Well actually I do think that "she's annoying" is a credible reason, but then you must be able to explain WHY the character annoys you and if you can't then your reason for hating her becomes invalid. But the rest of these reasons, especially the Cersei example you gave, the people who hate Kitty for being a slut and etcetera, I hope they learn something from this video! I'm honoured to have been a part of this with all of you, you're all so talented! =]

@BlackCousins4life Ah well most often you find that 'she is annoying' is the only reason you get with no expansion on that, but yes, if they explained their reasons that's fine, though even when I hate characters I don't really like to use the term 'annoying' but that's personally just me! But yeah, I hope that people take something from this video hopefully, I'm not trying to force anyone to love any of those women, just not to bash their characters.
