  • we watched this in our Religion and American culture and now im writing a paper over it great story :)

  • @EmilyRoseODell10 what's your take on it?

  • I am intrigued by the audience, many of whom have their laptops open...supposedly 'multitasking', which is another word for 'not paying attention.' Maybe we should spell this audience 'odd-ience'.

  • surely moving his story. he has gone through a lot of shit. and still lives. good on him. I once trusted god as well, but can't do it now anymore. I just realized that there is no one who helps you with a hand. For me it is a psychological construction which actually gave me strength in some situations, but it hasn't worked for me after I realized, as I said, that there is no invisible man. Would be good if there was somebody though. Live after death. Sounds good to me.

  • A Falwellian? Bah!

  • Man, reading the comments for this is downright scary, in this day and age we are still trying to justify the presence of an invisible man in the sky that takes away the credit and hard work of doctors and athletes :D Thank God my team won, thank God that the really difficult operation worked, it must have been God and not the 10 years of studying and preparation the actual Doctor went through, nope, it was that man in the sky that saved little old me while one million kids die in Africa.

  • @giamadeo You are confused. He hasn't saved you. He has let you live. When you put your faith and trust in Him and confess that Jesus is Lord THEN He will save you.

  • @giamadeo Who gave the doctor life?

  • God probably should have finished him off, cause he is polluting the souls of men. Who is giving him breath right now? GOD!!! Like the tower of Babel!! He calls himself a god

  • @douglasdolly really? I'm a Christian... i don't wish for God to 'finish' people off. I wish for God to demonstrate His mercy and gracy and open this man's, and all men's, eyes to the Truth of their sin so that they might fall on their knees and repent and be SAVED from the wrath to come... there but for the grace of God go I (and in case you forgot... you too).

  • @ytcdc2 I dont wish for God to finish people off, just this guy,,,JK. This guy doesnt realize God equipped those doctors with thier talants, God owns science, hes the creater. Your right about him repenting. I am a christian too and i probably shouldnt have said that. I get angry with all the false teachers and false religions. I have family that are stuck in the catholic church,, it hurts..

  • @douglasdolly i get angry with false converts, false teachers and false doctrine too... keep praying for the Holy Spirit to convict them of sin, righteousness and judgment... like it says in John.

  • @ytcdc2 I agree, to much confusion out there. What church do you go to?

  • @douglasdolly a baptist church... i'm not denominationally motivated... i want to attend a bible-believing, sin and grace preaching, hell and heaven, power of the Most High God believing church

  • Comment removed

  • @ytcdc2 Thats good! I go to St. Louis Family Church. It seems every denom has a little bit of truth in it. Check out Doug Batchelor videos, hes good but some things are off.

  • @g4whatever God probably should have finished him off, cause he is polluting the souls of men. Who is giving him breath right now? GOD!!! Like the tower of Babel!!

  • @douglasdolly yet another hypocritical christian, wishing a cancer sufferer should die cos he doesn't believe in what you believe in. And you wonder why people are moving away from organized religion in droves.

  • @danielbinns66 If you knew God you would know, its not about "organized religion" i dont know where u get that., I said probably. The guy is tearing Gods children away, with his self rightueosness

  • @douglasdolly you can't tear God's children away... you can only tear false converts away

  • God's mercy has been flowing through this man's life by causing people to take action so that he can live and yet he denies that good God. And not only does he deny Him, he denies Him by falling into the same trap that Adam and Eve did. They wanted to be the god of their own life. And now the world is full of death, destruction, misery, etc. Denying the One True God only adds to the misery in the world. The Bible says to not lean on your own understanding. Repent and turn to Christ who is Truth.

  • ths man is an inspiration to all of us on the internet. I think people should watch this before making fun of people who have lots of friends online.

  • I agree with this guy

This guy should be a role model for the next generation

  • God brought all of these people together in order for his life to be saved. God was in the room with the family who chose to donate their sons organs so others could live. We are not God. Wow.. this is Satan himself being the great deciever. Completely unbelievable. God does reside in all of our hearts, but we are not God. God is at work when all come together in love and to do good, but we are not God. The deceiver will grow larger as the days of Jesus' return draws closer.

  • When everyone clapped at 10:45 it showed how un-discerning the audience was to the content of his message. They were moved by emotion rather than by truth.

  • Except he repent and re-submit his life to the Lord Jesus Christ he'll be in serious trouble on judgment day. He is preaching humanism. Man is not the center of the universe. God is.

  • @1000DaysEvangelism I agree, but he sounds more like an antichrist who is now declaring himself to be a god. Another example of a false convert who never really understood what true Biblical repentance is all about. The Bible guarantees us trials and tribulations when we become children of God.

  • @1000DaysEvangelism

    Shame on you

Even god would be ashamed by your destructive existence.

  • Yes, there is evil in the world. No, there is no God. But people are intrinsically good, and that's what this is about. People, connected in any way, but especially NOW, through the Internet, have the potential to change everything about everything.

  • Comment removed

  • @ytcdc2 Actually, I can very confidently look at my actions, and those of the vast majority of the population, and say with gusto that people are intrinsically good. Frankly, we can't afford to have such a defeatist attitude towards our own species; doing so will lead nowhere except to suspicion, anger, and mass paranoia. I'm too young to be so bitter. I don't think those actions are good, and I do think that some people are bad. However, most people are good, and all are intrinsically good.

  • @ytcdc2 We will not use the 10 Commandments. The 10 Commandments are 5 idiotic "laws" that were invented by ancient people on behalf of their personal vision of God followed be 5 common sense, universal laws which make sense until one reads the punishments for disobeying them. And why are we talking about how many lies I've told?

  • Comment removed

  • ytcdc2 You insult me by not reading what I said - I made a mistake, it's the first four that are entirely subjective. They all relate to being submissive to God. The last six are, as I said, universal, but the Biblical punishments for not following them are insane. And actually, my moral standards are built in, as are yours. I don't need a dusty old book to tell me that killing people is wrong, nor do I need a dusty old book telling me that only God can make me happy; this is obviously untrue.

  • Comment removed

  • @ytcdc2 I attribute those things to evolution. Our species has evolved the common psychological inhibition that tells us not to hurt other individuals because we evolved from early people who literally depended on each other for survival. The people who choose to bypass these inhibitions are the exception, not the rule.

And I refuse to answer your question until you tell me why you want to know how many lies I've told.

  • Comment removed

  • @ytcdc2 I don't have a fear; it's just not every day I have a complete stranger asking me how many lies I've told.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @ytcdc2 It's a finite number, that I know. I don't know how many. But I do know that I make it a point to be honest, and that lying is the exception, not the rule.

  • @ytcdc2 A person.

  • Comment removed

  • @ytcdc2 Haha, true! However, I don't like the idea of labeling a person by their mistakes. People fuck up; that's just what happens.

  • @g4whatever Christianity is not a religon of tolerance. It is exclusive. Jesus: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.". It is Jesus who exclusively saves, who exclusively judges, who exclusively gave His life to redeem the souls of men. The exclusivity lies not in who is welcome (for ALL who believe are welcome) but in the sacrifice of the Son of God. Mr. Gilliam has twisted the compassion of God into a staggering profession of 'we are gods'.

  • This "god" he speaks of, I call "The Feel-Good god". It is a god all people recognize. But is this a sanctification we should encourage?

  • @Peytonator1 I just wanted to add another reply, because APPARENTLY ITS COOL TO REPEAT SHIT OVER AND OVER ON YOUTUBE!!!!!!! Oh and hi!

  • Mr. Gilliam - if it was God's will that you should die you would have died. no amount of compassionate efforts by strangers would overpower His plan... and if it was (and it appears to be) that God would have you live no cancer or mortality from chemo and radiation would prevail. i praise God for power and you, sir, should to... you do not live because of these mighty and gentle people but by the grace and mercy of God, who through them, wrought a miracle in you.

  • @ytcdc1 God probably should have finished him off, cause he is polluting the souls of men. Who is giving him breath right now? GOD!!! Like the tower of Babel!! He calls himself a god

  • @ytcdc1 How dare you praise God for his survival and at the same time say that Gods plan was for him to go through such pain and heartache when it comes to his mother dying while he was fighting cancer. Prayer didn't save him. Our healthcare system that has developed over many many years through scientific discovery saved his life. Be thankful that humans have the ability to use logic and reason to discover new ways to battle "GODS" natural order of things.

  • @MrAndrewstewart7 Read the Bible and you'll find it full of scientific knowledge that was not 'discovered' by scientists for hundreds and thousands of years. My friend If you choose to 'battle' God you are going to lose. Scripture promises that God will work ALL things together for GOOD to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purposes... but He makes no such promise to unbelievers.

  • @ytcdc2 oh come on!!! the bible is only 2000 years old. what scientific knowledge do u speak of?? what bullshit!

  • @CetraTJ The New Testatment is about 2000 years old and less... The Old Testament is considerably older... i thought i'd take the liberty of correcting your misunderstanding.

  • @ytcdc2 silly technicalities dont suddenly give value to your statement. what scientific knowledge?

  • @CetraTJ Are you going to continue to label YOUR ERRORS as "silly technicalities"? You have already CONCLUDED that the Bible is "bullshit" so why pursue it? It seems as though I can expect you to respond similarily to the evidence of scientific knowledge which is why I originally asked "Why do you ask?"

  • @ytcdc2 I didnt read your comment of "why do you ask?" someone had marked it as spam. The "silly technicalities" I refered to was that yes I was speaking of the new testament which is only approx. 2000 years old. The statement of the old testament being older adds no validity to your scientific knowledge claim. I didnt say the bible was bullshit ether. I said the claim that there is "scientific knowledge" outside of what they already knew at the time is bullshit. You've not counter-argued.

  • @CetraTJ Part 1The earth is round. The Book of Isaiah establishes that the true shape of the earth is a sphere:

He sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants look to him like grasshoppers. He stretches out the galaxies like a curtain, spreading them out like a tent to live under: - Isaiah 40:22. Note that Isaiah was written 800 HUNDRED YEARS BEFORE CHIRST, centuries BEFORE Greek philosophers, beginning with Pythagoras, theorized the earth was round.

  • @ytcdc2 the church took that (Isaiah 40:22) to mean the earth was round and flat like a disc. The persicuted Galileo for believing contrary. Also, Psalms 93:1, 96:10, and 104:5 run contrary to the round earth as well as chronicles 16:30. There are many passages in the Quran that also suggest the earth is flat. But even disregarding all of this, that passage is not at all scientific knowledge. got anything else?

  • @CetraTJ what's your source for claiming that the church took that passage to mean the earth was a flat disc? also, the Psalms and 1 Chronicles passages you cite have nothing to do with the shape of the earth.

  • @ytcdc2 sure they do. Pslams 104:5 "the Lord set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved." this is often refered to as the pillars of the earth, it also implies the earth is grounded, not a sphere floating in space. Isaiah 40:22 (your reference) calls the galaxies a tent to live under. This also infers that the galaxies r not below us. It was a commonly held belief that the heavens were above and hell lived below. round is not the same as sphere and the earth isnt round its ellipsiod

  • @CetraTJ the word 'foundations' does not mean a literal foundation, it means to establish.... ie, a marriage is established on trust. as far as not floating in free space see

Job 26:7 “He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.

  • @ytcdc2 look there are many passages that one could argue flat or spherical, just wikipedia it. Very informative. When you start reading the history, it should become clear to you that this arguement has been going on for 1000's of years by renowned philosophers. So no, there is no scientific knowledge in the bible that the earth is a sphere. Also, many cultures believed in the round earth before christianity.

  • @CetraTJ and foundations? free floating?

  • @CetraTJ part 2 part 2 Among the ancient Greeks, Homer thought the world to be FLAT. In contrast, Pythagoras postulated that the earth was round. A CENTURY, Aristotle sided with the theory of the roundness of the earth. CENTURIES later, independent work was done by Muslims By the 9th CENTURY AFTER CHRIST, many Muslim scholars took it for granted that the Earth was a sphere.

  • @MrAndrewstewart7 2... But He demonstrated His profound, unmatchable love for you when He sent His Son Jesus Christ to suffer the penalty for your sins... .. As for suffering... one day it will all end for believers.. no more tears, no more death, no more pain, eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven... Eternity in hell suffering for those who reject the redemption found in His Son.

  • @ytcdc2 I was a christian for twenty years. I do not need a lesson on Christianity. I think you need to do your homework.

  • @MrAndrewstewart7 What happened?

  • @MrAndrewstewart7 what happened?

  • @ytcdc2 I don't debate with fundamentalists who dont know how the bible came to be and want to believe in the ghastly idea of hell.

  • @MrAndrewstewart7 I asked "what happened?". i don't know how you misrepresented that as a 'debate' but nevertheless I do know how the bible came to be and i do believe what it says...take care... may God grant you wisdom.

  • @ytcdc2 Yes. I understood your question buddy. There is no need for me to explain myself considering that you will most likely ignore the facts. Therefore.... I do not wish to debate with you. Very simple.

  • @Peytonator1 Hate to break it to you sir, but God does not exist.

  • the internet...the good he speaks of, is counterbalanced by evil in equal amounts.

    thats how it works.

but i wouldn't say that too him, he seems happy.

  • Truly now..... EPIC.

  • He found the secret of who God/dess is. Wonderful!!

  • shit..this made me feel weird inside, but i dont know how to explain it..

  • @gl3110 It's called, "sympathy"

  • I have faith in people too. It's the only faith I need.

  • Very inspiring.

  • soldiers protecting us is a charade, at least currently. its not their fault though we can forgive them they know not what they do as only what they are told. but what is being done is not protecting our freedoms. we are actually losing freedoms because of the chaos and the fear being created over there with our misguided invasion of multiple countries.

  • Never seen anything more powerful. Amazing.

  • Nothing revolutionary here. This humanistic hubbub has been making it's rounds since the enlightenment. "Communism is my religion" "Democracy is my religion" "Capitalism is my religion" There's nothing new under the sun.

  • Haha, he still believe in god

  • can we just outlaw religion already

  • Blessed be bro, I just want to say that you are an inspiring & inspirational, man. I was set on fire when I was 15months old by my mum & dad, for money. I am much older now & I'm about to go under the knife again, to try to save my left leg from below knee amputation. I'm meeting the doctors July 28th & I'm nervous as hell because I've done it so many, many times. (operations) Watching your video helped me to remember, that people like you & I &, so many more are survivors. Thank you...

  • He has a great take on god

  • USA is no more free than china. Atleast in china, they don't sugar coat things, you know what's coming to you.

  • Jim makes me proud to be a liberal!

  • Why is it that nearly everything I hear seems to lead me back to (modern-day Prophet) Bill Hicks saying"...we are all merely one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively"?

  • @Peytonator1 Go fuck yourself :D

  • Im an Atheist and WOW this video is amazing!

  • @linhphan14 I wonder how many times you say O GOD please help in time of distress. If you are atheist lets see what will happen when you die. But time then has gone.

  • @hussanali Just because you think one way and another person has a different point of view doesn't make then wrong. stop being a smart ass you don't sound like one.

  • This is very touching, but when he says "the soldiers keeping us free" I had to laugh. A nation that uses military force (SWAT) against its own citizens for non violent "crimes" (drug possesion) is NOT FREE and is the very definition of a police state!

  • @bradjbourgeois73 What about the soldiers that died in Pearl Harbour, Iwo Jima, Papua New Guinea, Normandy, Germany? Did they not keep you free from the Nazi regime and from Australia and America being invaded by both Japs and German Nazis?

  • @JoeyWtf1 At that time our country was free and did not perform military raids and destoy its own citizens homes for non violent crimes.

  • @bradjbourgeois73 Regardless, if at that time it didn't happen, everything would be different now hence the 'freedom'.

  • @JoeyWtf1 WTF?

  • @JoeyWtf1 I'm sorry, a nation that uses military force (SWAT) against it's own citizens for non violent "crimes" (drug possession) is not, and cannot be (at least in any sense of functional meaning of the word) free!

  • yeah, waiting for the part where he doesn't believe in god,... my face when that part doesn't come up -_-

  • He is an atheist, he's reappropriating the word 'god' to represent a real worldly, human phenomenon, that he has real, justifiable, tangible faith in! Important, inspirational and (hopefully) revolutionary stuff indeed!

  • @ancyt I doubt that he is an atheist. @ 11:40 he clearly says "I have faith in people, believe in God and the Internet is my religion." IMO he most likely believes in the Christian version of god but has a distaste for some of the more conservative denominations. Either way I find his story very uplifting and moving. I can only hope that his vision of people working together for a common good continues to spread since I prefer it over some of the more archaic trains of thought still around.

  • @jrm102 Well like I said - if he's reappropriated the word 'God' (to mean good nature), he's saying that he has faith in people, belief in the real worldly -human- phenomenon he describes as God, and the internet is his religion. Also, he said humanity is God (not Jesus!), which is an ultimately pure blasphemy to all possible forms of Christianity(!). He has atheistic religion, in the same way that buddhism is atheistic (but without all the ridiculous insanity of buddhism!).

  • @ancyt i wouldn't call Buddhism ridiculous Buddhists would call a crusade over religion ridiculous or how christian Europeans would come to the new world and kill anyone who was not a christian ridiculous, or how televangelists go around promising that God will get rid of all your debt if you give their church 1000 dollars and the list goes on so before you bash another religion take a hard look at your own

  • @filidizzle

Well, I'd agree with them, all that historical religious stuff was ridiculous, often horrific behaviour with ravings of myth and conjecture... Buddhist societies are included just the same in this history of chaotic human behaviour! I'm not religious... like the growing majority of enlightened young people.

  • @ancyt I was just making the point that all religions are messed up and no one who is religious should have the right to bag on the other but I am a strong believer in Jesus Christ I just don't like the evils of organized religion

  • @ancyt What happens when you re-appropriate a word that in essence means supernatural/a higher power/something not tangible into something something that is real/materialistic/demonstrable and/or tangible? You get a word with a completely unless meaning. It is like describing a "red apple" as a "blue apple" while keeping the meaning of the word "red" the same. There is no need to change the definition of the word "blue" in order to describe "red" when you can just say "red".

  • I found this hard to masterbate to :(

  • @Peytonator1 You are a middle ages relic. Do you realise that?

  • watch him have another new problem

  • @WHTBOII Everyone has new problems

  • I still dont get it, he isnt a Christian neither an Atheist, he is far beyong our thinking... or as he said we are THE CREATOR.

  • @hotwirm A lot of people are realizing this. We created man to understand ourself. Enjoy!

  • @Peytonator1 ...He had a 'wretchedly sinful heart' at age 12?

  • @Peytonator1 - The Internet is where religion goes to DIE!

  • I like this dude...

He is looks weak, but at the same time he is strong as hell

  • damn this guy is a fucking hero

  • @Peytonator1 Your "creator" tried to take his life while the rest of us fucking saved it. Go tell your "creator" to shove it. I'm pagan and his story is truly inspirational to me and if you can't watch this and feel the slightest bit of empathy for this man and the astounding analogy he's made between his own life, the internet, inter-connectivity of people, and religion, than you sir, are a close minded fool.

  • @Peytonator1 You are what I hate.

  • This guy has a boner

  • inspiring

  • Hes not a christian is he? he said his religion is the internet.

  • Comment removed

  • Someone had to die for him to live.

  • Im pretty sure Ive seen this guy bend a spoon with his Mind..

  • @Peytonator1

Prove your god exists, and we'll start giving a damn about it. You Christians make me sick.

  • i had two loves, jesus and the internet... yea, fuck my parents

  • fact; this 1 of the greatest stories in human history

  • Amazingly inspirational. All well said.

  • @Peytonator1 Evangelicals are a plague on humanity. Go spew your poison elsewhere, we don't need it here.

  • TYT ARMY

  • My favorite line = 'God is what happens when people connect." BAM!

  • My favorite line = 'God is what happens when people connect." BAM!

  • What a wonderful video.

  • I think we are all connected by humanity, it doesn't matter what religion you believe in.

  • how sad

  • alguien podría subtitularlo????please.

  • @erikxmusic each of us are creative but "together we are the creator". profound

  • Very inspirational.

  • @Futurist2029 it truly is inspirational. I wish all my friends were activist and not media zombies.
