  • Best Video to explain Geocaching!!!! I like it.

  • My son has been geocaching for quite a while now.

I never realized how big it really is !

  • it is really cool and fun ..

  • My girlfriend and I love geocaching together. A new geocache was placed a couple of months ago in a park by where I used to live. I used the new cache as an excuse to get us there, and after finding the cache, we sat in the park enjoying the sunset and evening air. I then proposed there in the park, and she said yes! Great moment!

  • I've just discovered geocaching and I think it's incredible! It's a worldwide treasure hunt in different locations. When I first logged on and typed in my post code, I thought "There's gonna be 5. 2.4, 3.6, 4.8, 7.2 and 10.1 miles away... holy crap!" There were so many so close to my home! Everyone should get geocaching.

  • Some friends took me out geocaching today. I'm hooked!! I had no idea this even existed. We went after three different caches and I found two of them. I'll be downloading the app to my droid and heading out again! Cya on the trail!

  • This Looks Awesome i already looked up my postal code and found hundreds in my town so here i go

  • @operationturkeyshoot Good for you!

  • @operationturkeyshoot how did it go?

  • I have to do this for science......

  • 8 people have never went geocaching.

  • My new favorite "sport". ;)

  • In 2011 Rev3 Adventure will be holding two organized events for Geocaching. The Geocache event will allow GPS enthusiasts to test their cache finding skills. Ten caches will be placed throughout a park. Each cache will contain treasures that must be collected and returned to a home base to qualify for a finishing prize. Participants will be provided coordinates and optional spoilers at the beginning of the course. For more information visit rev3adventure.

  • this is actually a very very awsome and neat idea...great job to who ever did this

  • but no cash :( but sounds cool! might check it out!

  • Love the video. Makes it a lot easier to explain geocaching to people. :)

  • I started a few weeks ago together with my girlfriend. Yesterday we went a memorial really close to where we live to get the coordinates for a so called "mystery cache". We never even knew it was there and we live here for over 7 years now!

Geocaching really can show you places you would have never visited otherwise.

  • theres one in the park next to where i live

lol dont really need to go anywhere

  • You guys must either live in really small towns or in an area without a lot of geocaching fans. I don't live in a really big area, but there are at least ten within a two mile radius of me, and at least fifty in my town.

  • @KWalsh554 LOL I live in toronto and there are about 150 withing a 10 minutes drive

  • Check our profile out IndyCanard we found two today, has any one ever heard of Mount10bike ?

  • Interested in learning to geocache? Check out a GEO-GET-IT! event. This event pairs experienced cachers with beginners on a hunt for 10 caches in a predetermined area. The teams take the lowest available #coin from each cache. The team with the lowest total of #s wins! Fun for the entire family! This is a run of strategy and skill for the cachers. So, come join us and GEE-GET-IT!

  • This is so fun! There is things everywhere and no one (mugglers) know about it. Feels so cool in a way. I started a couple of days ago and I've found new places that I've probably never would have gone to.

  • i started geocaching a little over a week ago and now i'm hooked. :)

  • Great vid!

  • Excellent video! The most fun game on earth. Doesn't quite relay how much fun this sport is, but very informative.

  • Very well done! Just shared on my facebook page, so others will know what it's all about, and possibly even get involved! --gelfling6

  • Do geocoins have a time-limits? Are they disabled after not showing up after a while?

  • No they don't have time limits

  • No sometimes they can disapear for years then all of a sudden pop back up into circulation!!!

  • @ReinisGravitis No, the owner can mark them "lost" if they are gone too long.

  • tftc video!

  • Very Good explanation of what geocaching is all about, and simple like it should be!!!

  • TFTV!

    IN: comment

    OUT: facebok share

  • OMG TFTC!!!

  • GPS not needed, you just need a printer, and some good map & compass skills...

Or a fantastic memory and compass, but I'd recommend the maps or gps!!

  • Agreed, i found my first 100 without a GPS! It's easy without a GPS but once you start hiking or Geocaching in the woods and more remote places, the GPS is really needed because maps and Google earth can't give you as good point of referance as then can in a city or town.

  • Map and compass is not as accurate here as google map is not that accurate either. For compass and map work there is another type of game called Letterboxing that uses map and compass. I have found geocaches with out my GPS ....its not impossible but it MUCH harder!!!

  • Nice video - definately makes educating the uninitiated easier!

  • I embedded this on my Geocaching Club website.

  • Very Nice

    Ideas:

    -translate it into other languages

-the link in the description is defect

  • Good job. That's awsome video ;)

  • Interesting twist on geohashing.

  • FINALLY a good NOOB vid! ARRRSOME JOB MATES!

  • TFV

i think this forum is an TB Hotel x) so many peoples take thinks out and put some other in :D I call this video now TB Hotel on Youtube street :D

  • Wunderbar ausgeführt... Excellent :-)

  • great introductory video! :D

i bet you waited until we reached 1 million geocaches to release this one! :)

  • I think this one is a lot better than the original.

  • Nice !

  • GC people shuld transalte this or make subtitles..

  • STF xD...

Das Video bringts auf den Punkt. Sehr informativ und schön gemacht.

  • Thank you so much for making this video. Now I can direct friends to this, rather than explaining caching with the "looking for Tupperware in a bush using billion-dollar satellites" line.

  • @grantvolk Ya. It's very hard to explain geocaching, and that line can make people even MORE confused. Lol

  • Simple and to the point! ... and the explosion of popularity continues... Fun, Adventurous Game. Been to and found many places we would never have discovered!

  • Pretty good video, you should edit the closed captions so they are correct

  • TFV! Awesome job on this. Now I can simply link this video when people ask what geocaching is.
