  • what about BPA with all this plastic?

  • what about just having tubes running from one bucket to the next?

  • You could do that, but we were concerned that by directly connecting the buckets, any pathogens or diseases could move freely from bucket to bucket.

  • Do you think it would work to use a recycable grocery bag and an olla pot? Or for that matter any container with an olla pot?

  • another question;

    if the main reservoir (the olive barrels) has more water in it than the plant buckets, will the water overflow from the plant buckets until the water level in the olive barrel is equal to the water level in the buckets?

    if so, how do I rig the system so that I can completely fill my main reservoirs without losing most of the water to overflow?

  • You guys rock, thank you so much ... Can you do a video on connecting one global bucket to another (and another) ? This is great to go from reservoir to bucket, but now I want to see one bucket to another bucket ... Just take another black tube in that same pipe and to to another pipe? Sorry if I am a little slow ... this is so awesome, keep it up

  • @IsisTree What about a wicking material inside the hoses, like yarn? could tie to a straight metal clothes hanger to run through easily, wouldn't obstruct much. Maybe fold the hose over to pinch off the flow (if it can be done completely, test first) then when the hose goes down into the pvc, the pvc would hold it pinched, and when it gets to the bottom in the pre-water-filled-bucket it would reach the cut-opening and re-open. Maybe insert a pill gel-cap (if it fit) while under water, to melt?

  • brilliant guys!!

  • re: Irrigation and Root Disease Great question. Please see our response at "Lessons Learned, Advice and Comments from Readers" at our website Global Buckets.

  • The only problem I see, is when you have a root disease in one plant you will transfer to the others

  • Great video guys. I plan on trying this next weekend.

  • pretty cool! would be very handy if U were growing for profit or to grow all your own food...U need better weights on the end of the tubes tho.

  • Love it!! You guys are just wonderful teachers! Keep up the great vids as they are helping the beginners! God Bless!!
