  • 40 percent of all voters voted for a tea party candidate. its the largest political machine out there today. sorry democrats sorry republicans. it all over for you guys.

  • its ok 30 democrats that voted for this were fired by their own supporters. i figure the republicans that voted for it are in the next round.

  • 1 person is a rebel without a cause.

  • i love him, but i think ron paul is wrong on this issue. if we're going to use these modern methods we're going to have to agree together to control our emissions. the "FREE MARKET", at least in this sense, is a fantasy. we are on a finite planet. there will probably be no human race in 60 years...

if there is a free market it MUST be based on not destroying the land base. if you can't make a product without destroying the land base then you don't have a product. presently .002% follow this.

  • This bill would destroy the US economy. Please let your Senators & Reps know you oppose it.

  • yo john tate sounds like such a nut job sometimes. i don't know why i read his ridiculously hyped emails, and i'm not sure why i watched this video... the ocean is the largest polluter? are you kidding me?

  • @aaronf666

You don't discern the meaning of words well. To your own detriment.

Watch the vid again. The claim is that 95% of CO2 in the atmosphere occurs from natural not man made sources. The largest component of this naturally occurring CO2 originates from the oceans. I'm not sure how I could express the idea more clearly.

  • @maskedphrogg

Thanks for the heads up on my poor literary comprehension.

Well, I watched the video again... and as painstaking as its alarmist rhetoric is, I'm still just as disappointed. You think we'll EVER pass any climate legislation that will negatively affect our economy? Clearly you're giving FAR too much credit to Congress. The economy ALWAYS win. Just ask any of our vanishing natural resources...

  • @maskedphrogg

"Around 88 thousand million tonnes of carbon is released from the surface of the world's oceans each year, with an annual uptake by the oceans of 90 thousand million tonnes." -- Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute

The oceans are, and always have been, a carbon sink--at least according to science. And I'd much rather leave the science to scientists, NOT some politico provocateur like Tate. Mr. Tate could have expressed his ideas more clearly by stating the facts.

  • @maskedphrogg

    Lastly,

You think the federal government doesn't ALREADY have 'unprecedented control' over our supposedly free-market economy? Every email I read from Mr. Tate sounds the alarmist bell at the death of the all-too-pure private sector by 'big-government-loving statists'.... As if that didn't happen decades ago!

  • @aaronf666

Make up your mind. Is there "unprecedented control" over the economy or is it a free market economy. Unless and until you settle on a conclusive view your expressed viewpoint will most likely remain unintelligible. Which goes a long way to explaining why your initial post made no sense.

  • @maskedphrogg

Honestly, if you (and Mr. Tate) actually payed attention to scientific fact--go figure--my initial post makes perfect sense. And, moreover, 'supposedly' usually confers some sense of sarcasm or doubt. Why would you even have to ask whether I think we have a free market? We haven't had a free market since FDR, and probably long before even him.

By the way, thanks for responding to my WHOI reference. But I guess that proves you and Mr. Tate wrong, which is telling of you both.

  • @aaronf666

If you would pay as much attention to your own writing as you purport to spend on "science" then you wouldn't engender so much confusion on what your viewpoint is. I'll leave you with one last piece of advice. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Follow those two simple rules and others stand a chance of understanding what it is you are trying to express.

Unless the aim was to introduce gibberish and confusion into the conversation. In that case you have achieved the goal handily

  • @maskedphrogg

That's the best you've got? Say what you mean and mean what you say... I'll keep your sage advice in mind.

While it's obvious that we disagree, I HIGHLY doubt that any of my contributions were 'gibberish'. It seems like you're the only one who's confused here--and, unfortunately, defensive to boot.

I never purported to spend ANY time on science... That's why I leave it to the scientists--as should Mr. Tate.

Enjoy the last word. After all, this is your video--you're the defendant.

  • MUST SEE VIDEO - STOP Cap and Trade_or, you're finished as a FREE AMERICAN!

  • CAP & TAX is coming get ready for the death of America, death of you Air cond. at home, death of your heat at home, Death of your job-all so the Global Elites can drain another $Trillion out of America-it always was the FED Reserve Bank Mafia's plan to destroy the US, thats why they Killed Lincoln, JFK,and Bobby Kennedy. You won't be able to afford Gas, if you can't ride a bicycle 40 miles each day you better learn quick, FUK Rockefellers& Rothschilds!

  • Excellent slide show on how the statists on both parties love power and control over us, at the expense of our constitutional liberties. pI've given to C4L on this issue and others, but even a lot of small contributions from struggling working class folks like me can and will defeat this atrocity.

  • I tried to donate online and the site kept on erasing the fields....hmmmm

  • Just signed the petition against cap-and-trade and donated $100 to Campaign For Liberty. This legislation must be stopped. The main reason the powers-that-be want it are so they can control the multi-billion dollar carbon credit trading market that will result.

  • I used to do fund raising and telephone propaganda, I remember telling people that they would stand infront of death panels.... I am against cap and trade but getting info over the telephone is bad.... I would say that at the end of this message some one comes on to "get your info" and ask for money..... messages used to be shorter but now I see that there running the rebuttal info in the message

  • Everyone! Sign the Petition! Ron Paul forever!

  • Ron, baby, you say this and that, but we don't trust you. or this other person.

You say, "he has plans to to this or that"- but they're JUST plans. We've heard it all before, and when we vote you in, you politicans don't carry through.

YHou've given us this type of lines before. And you must believe we're stupid, "peasants" to fall for it every time.

How many millennia, have you ROTFL at us?

The last straw was the electronic voting machines!

    IT"S OVER!

    Go scratch your behind!

  • @EarthaKit2 exactly all I hear from this guy is BLA BLA as i hear that cowardly traitor John McCain will be reinstalled as senator again. Makes me sick to my stomach. To think there are actually people that still listen to all the bullshit. For me I keep my gun loaded and am waiting.

  • @pure2warrior zzzzzWeapons are NOT going to do it. You better get some community behind you.

  • We The People Against Corruption are engaged in a Campaign waging the war against the unprecedented demise of the United States of America. It is day 56 in the RESIGN OR INDICT OBAMA Campaign. August 25/2010. The corruption must be stopped from the top down. B. Soetoro dba Barack Hussein Obama is a lying thieving attorney along with Janet Napolitano head of Homeland Security. I have the inside story. Bank One Obama FRAUD. Estate of me deceased FRAUD. Linked to the funding of 911. RESIGN OBAMA. H

  • Although I am very sympathetic to Ron Paul's views, when things start to sound like propaganda, it makes me nervous. To begin with, why not just be normal and call the bill by the correct name, cap and trade. We are not so stupid that we need to be riled up by buzzwords, and if we are, Ron Paul is no different from the rest. Second, why refer to 'jackbooted' enforcers? Inspectors will not be military or police. Avoid propaganda, or lose credibility. Talk straight, please.

  • @briteness:

"Second, why refer to 'jackbooted' enforcers? Inspectors will not be military or police".

Then I can tell these inspectors that they are not welcome in my home? Then who will they send if I refuse to let them "inspect"?

  • Fuck them, Ron Paul for President!!

  • This crazy bill must be stopped sign Ron Pauls petition.

  • WE all need to be Americans and stand together

  • The IslamoSocialist take over must be stop!

  • As Pelosi said: under over through around pole vault they are going to TAKE YOUR MONEY... They can't fund their social justice programs any other way. This is a POWER GRAB of Epic purportions-

"First they came for the Communists, I'm not a Communist so I did nothing, then they came for the Trade Unionists, I'm not a Trade Unionist so I did nothing, Then they came for the Jews, again I'm not a Jew and did nothing, Then they came for ME but there was nobody left to help." It cant happen again??

  • @scoutxlt Sure can, as Reverend Niemoeller knew so well (whom you quoted).

  • Ron Paul/John Tate and company have some ideas and perspectives I entirely agree with wholeheartedly, but they would retain a lot more credibility and have a greater impact on people who value reason if they would use concrete, objective, non-colored speech and terminology. Just stick to the facts and tell us what we need to know. Being passionate about politics is great, but exercising some calm, honest, objective, open-minded discipline goes a long way toward furthering the right causes.

  • @timwdegner very well put, I can't agree more with you

  • @timwdegner I just posted a comment which said exactly the same thing, before even bothering to read yours. You are right, they need to stop talking down to the movement, or they will alienate us. I have heard John Tate pull out this kind of alarmist, inflammatory rhetoric before. I guess Dr. Paul must believe it to be necessary, although he wants to keep his own hands clean. It don't work that way. Guilt by association, Dr. Paul.

  • @timwdegner:

I absolutely disagree. For *far* too long now, conservatives have taken the high road straight to defeat. Like it or not, all too many of the voting public *are* moved by passionate rhetoric. It's about time conservatives learned that lesson, and not left political passion to the liberals.

I'm beginning to smell a concern troll at work.

  • @LordKelvin100 so you realy think that the votes are honestly counted by the Israel manufacured voting machines. I say to you PROVE IT> when i buy a loaf of bread from a store I get a reciept and I can prove that but when I vote noone can prove that my vote was counted. What a huge illusion to think the real voters want that traitor scum John McCain to be in the senate again come on. To think that ROn Paul is continously reelected in a strong Democratic area of Texas. One huge LIE

  • @timwdegner apparently they feel that the knowing the facts is more important then offending your gentle sensibilities.

  • Pass or not, the Empire is doomed.

  • One of these days we need to have constitution trials and lawmakers that violated the constitution must go to prison. Only problem, Ron Paul would be the only one not in prison.

  • @goodinohio So what's the problem?

  • @goodinohio

    I don't see your point.

Trials in Courts with Jurisdiction are by definition Constitutional trials. What is missing is prosecution. The Courts already exist. What is needed is for a Prosecutor to come forward and enter applicable charges to a Court.

  • This Bill should never pass.
