I have a v10 dodge 2500 and my neibor has a 24 valce. He has a little more torque but the milage isnt much different. He gets about 14-15 towing and Im about 12-13 and that 24v cost a lot more when he got it
@entouchgraphics come on 24mpg.what are you driving a VW. maybe on the highway cruising. if you were pulling any thing there isn;t that much difference between gas or diesel. My 460 does about 8-10 mpg towing and 6.4 diesel does about 12 maybe 14 if i'm lucky . Or maybe I just got a heavy foot.
@gunnz23 No actually In a 12 Valve Cummin's Towing about 14.000 pounds we get about 19... Highway about 23-24 and City driving about 18-19. In the mountains is is reduced, but not by much.

@gunnz23 The 12v IS the way to go. From a Power and MPG Stand Point, they are both about the same. But as far as wiring and hooking up the Cummins in your Ford, the 12v has 2 Wires and Oil Presser line, the 24v has a computer that needs to be hooked up along with a few more wires.
But I guarantee, You will NOT be more happy with a Cummins siting in your Ford.
@28power68 gas motors are big box rpms with high amounts of hp and low amounts of torque. Diesel on the other hand at half the rpms will make the same hp and almost twice the torque. If u compare dyno sheets of a diesel and a gasser with close to the same work done the diesel will have much better numbers
@immeech Why do you need them to be DIESEL for???? More POWER??? More TORQUE??? More SMOKE onto the atmosphere???? GAS POWERED TRUCKS have their place too, you know. I am sick on how GAS POWERED Trucks get bashed by DIESEL enthusiasts.
Will any of the DIESELS reach that amount of HORSEPOWER without the aid of their beloved TURBOCHARGERS (single, twin or compound) PROPANE INYECTION, WATER / METHANOL INYECTION and all the ELECTONICS???
