My barber just told me of this today - thanks for being so honest about it, and for trying the less expensive stuff. Luckily I have ACV with the Mother in it (Bragg brand, got it from Amazon's website) - and it does go a long way (big 32 oz. bottle for $4.45) so I guess it's sort of worth it.
I tried this an hour ago but it hasnt made any difference on my itchy scalp :/ I've done everything I can to help my scalp and the itch wont go away, I try my best not to scratch but its extremely hard not to, it's been a week now and going to school with an itchy scalp isn't good..
@Nanodae Did you try this after you washed your hair and rinsed out your conditioner? Also you might get better result if you try this on a complete fresh/clean scalp. So I would also clarify you scalp by using a clarifying shampoo or baking soda after you shampoo. Then condition, then leave this on your scalp for about 5-10 mins & then rinse. But scratching is going to make your situation worse.
Respond to this video... Excessive scratching of an itchy scalp can introduce bacteria or fungus into the layers of the scalp, resulting in secondary infections. If its the middle of the day & u get that instant itch I use cortizone right on the spot and that helps allot. If this doesn't help it might be best to go to your dermatologist in order to get a perscription to help with your scalp.
@yellow468 Its should not but I would do a small spot test maybe somewhere in the back of your head and after 24 hour of using see if it has any drastic changes. If not I would go ahead and use it!!!
thank you miss, but i have a Q? i don't have that much of itchy scalp but i do have a little bit of dandruff so will this take care of it for good? i really hate when dandruff comes thanks
@ultraphoennix U welcome and I don't get dandruff since I wash my hair once a week so I wouldn't know from my experience if it helps with dandruff or not. You should reserch online and search on different ways to get rid of dandruff.
Hey, I have sensitive skin thats prone to allergic reactions. Its dry scalp other than dandruff I have. I think I will go down the oil route now! Just bought some coconut oil today! I'm determined to crack this. Wish I had skin as beautiful skin as yours, its not fair ..:o( !!
@3121camille Well I also use coconut oil to moisturize my face!!! It works great. Got the idea from "ninapruitt" channel. Also I use Shes Moisture African Black Soap. That is the only thing that has really kept me from breaking out. You can find it at a place like Duane Reade...maybe try that
Hey, thanks for responding. yes I did it the way you said but not much of an improvement :( .Ive already seen a dermatologist~gave me Polytar then Selsun Shampoo and also a steroid preparation- didnt help so thats why I'm so interested in alternative treatment. I probably wash my hair too much and that wont help. I'm going to keep on trying with your advice.Have a good day!
@3121camille Yeah I would only wash once a week tops, if you get the urge to wash your scalp then maybe cowash midweek. Also google search or even look on here of different way to help tame itchy scalp. I just gev u only 2 ways but there are tons of video on how to make your own oil mix or spritz spray to help tame itchy scalp. But this has worked for me. If u find a solution please let me know. And are u sure u d ont have a specific scalp condition since u went to the dermatologist.
@3121camille If you have dandruff try using the Nizoral shampoo. Many people have claimed it is the best shampoo for dandruff and it's been also the closest thing to a cure. You can also mix these ingredients to clean your scalp --> 1 Tsp - Brown Sugar
1/2 Tsp - Honey, and 1/4 Tsp - Apple Cider Vinegar. Let it sit in for 5 minutes then rinse out. Afterwards, rub 1/2 Tsp - Olive Oil on your scalp to control the flaking. All of these items are the best solution for a healthy scalp.
Hi again, how long does it take to see an improvement after using ACV like you've said? Did it today( I'm a bit impatient!). also can you tell me the ratio of carrier oil to essential oil please? I've bought them too. Thanks Dr UrbanChic1 !
@3121camille Did you leave it on your scalp & massage for a couple of minutes then rinse? If that didn't work maybe u should got to a dermatologist so he/ahe can figure out exactly whats going on. It worked for me so thats why I wanted to share this with yall but everyone is different. And for the ratio I heard usually you should put 2drops to every 30ml of the carrier oil.
I enjoyed watching your video, I liked your friendly relaxed style. I will try this tomorrow, hope I get results as nothing else has worked. ps Apple cider can remove skin tags after 2weeks of dabbing it on.(its amazing). thankyou!
@3121camille ok your welcome. If you still have problems I would also try to make your own oil mix with a carrier oil and pure essential oils like peppermint, tea tree, eucalyptus and apply that to your scalp. I also made my own oil mix. Def look on utube for tips on calming itchy scalp, but this should help.
To stay free of dandruff I use white sugar cane vinegar - it stinks less than ACV. I put it on straight 5%, using eye dropper or a spray bottle, 5-10 min before shower, every other day. it works for me much better than any dandruff shampoo, and I save tons of money.
appreciate ur tip... tho i just came across a video from teensmiles (u may check it out too), her doctor recommended a proper treatment of Selsun Gold shampoo to PERMANENTLY get rid of dandruff. And believe it or not, my dandruff sure is gone now!!
You are so BEAUTIFUL! <3 and thanks I am suffering the same and have ACV!!!

Apple cider vinegar is too dry for the scalp
MsTAYSHAUN 4 months ago
@MsTAYSHAUN Everyone is different. Maybe its too dry for your scalp but it never is for mines and I dilute my concoction with water
urbanChic1 4 months ago
Make sure it has the "mother" in it. Get those good bacteria. Believe it or not,
it helps the scalp a ton. Many hair problems, particularly loss, are caused by bad
bacteria that live on the scalp, particularly if you normally have an oily scalp.
ACV really helps with inflammation and circulation also.
