It is the easy way out to mashup songs, taking vocals from one and instrumentals from the other song.

In songs however, there is much more to blend besides only the vocal and instrumental parts. A good mixer will take all sorts of elements from one song and a second second and paste them together. Not just only vocals or only instrumentals.

It takes no time to paste vocals on instrumentals, but to really blend songs is a class higher.
