There is some slightly more organized scientific research. Just because it translates one way [eg. the way ghosts might appear] - doesn't mean it's how it'll translate for everyone - just how it translates for her. Personality reflections and brainwaves. Sorry - wasn't clear... there is some evidence that everyone can to some degree affect the atmosphere around them and change the course of things like electrons on very minor levels. There have also been more organized studies done on things like empathy, telepathy, and etc. If you took hard scientific evidence of thing people were not aware of 200 years ago, you would have been condemned as a heretic.

I have lots of premonitions but I don't see dead people and I don't dream the future. I know people who have been haunted before, so I believe in ghosts, but I haven't experienced that personally. I also am a bit of an empath so I really read other people's emotions and feel how they feel. but I don't get into their heads. So I don't know if this girl is the real deal. I am leery of anyone going around making tv shows about their "gifts". But I do enjoy the show, I just view it as fiction.

You really have no idea who would/would not be persuaded. This is as worthy a topic of debate as any other. The topic is not "personal"; that is also a fallacy. I really don't care who is/is not persuaded, although you have no idea whether anyone has changed his/her position. They demand physical proof of something that is no longer physical, yet some have an awareness of it, how can a blind man prove he is blind? He need not prove it, it is real enough to him. In time others around him will realize this, as is with the case of after death communication.

There is some slightly more organized scientific research. Just because it translates one way [eg. the way ghosts might appear] - doesn't mean it's how it'll translate for everyone - just how it translates for her. Personality reflections and brainwaves. Not even a gift really... just something more active in some brains than others... personally, I wouldn't want to be dealing with the thought patterns of a psycho, that, if nothing else, would drive me nuts. Easier to reprogram the reception.

Sorry - wasn't clear... there is some evidence that everyone can to some degree affect the atmosphere around them and change the course of things like electrons on very minor levels. There have also been more organized studies done on things like empathy, telepathy, and etc. If you took hard scientific evidence of thing people were not aware of 200 years ago, you would have been condemned as a heretic.

I firmly believe that let's say 200 years from now, there will be verifiable proof of some things that will get rid of the mystical perception that surrounds perfectly natural extensions of what a human mind is capable of and how it interacts with other minds - at least on a decently measurable level. I am heartened to hear that you are at least open to the possibility that Dubois is, as many who have studied her techniques allege, a fake. I should add that, to the exent she is a fake, she is not a very convincing one as her cold reading skills are mediocre at best, painfully obvious to those who study the field, and should be unconvincing to her subjects.

It is certainly not objectionable to have such a belief. You are correct, however, in identifying this as a belief only. With respect to the present, however, and a particular person with particular claims; these can be tested, verified, and known. Those who continue in these claims yet refuse testing, etc should give you some pause and raise some suspicion. I hate to inform you that the capabilities and capacity of the human "mind" is largely known.

empathic ability is the ability to sense emotions - have you ever walked into a room and before knowing anything that was going on, been affected by the surroundings - or known that someone you were close to was having a bad day before you interacted with them... when it was not based on their previously known patterns? or said the same thing at the same time as someone you were close to? If you have have you ever tried to push that further or did you write it off?

It's obvious that you have not studied the subject at length. I'll post the electron study when I find it. In the meantime, look at both sides of the issue - not all of it is bunk. What about the people who have submitted to testing? Occasionally the arguments against any kind of psychic ability are more ridiculous than accepting it as a possibility in some cases.

It would only be accepted as "a possibility in some cases" if they psychics would simply subject themselves to the proper scientific testing. If you know of a single credible scientific test on an alleged psychic that validated his/her psychic ability, post the link. All psychics who have "submitted to testing" (scientific testing that is) have all failed without exception. There is no "electron study" or, in any case, it is not based upon science.

No, "mindreading" is just as fraudulent as alleged psychic ability. In fact, the two claims are often really one and the same. The poster was claiming that such as thing as "empathic ability" was real; his definition was really just mindreading. It is therefore complete bunk. If all of this is "no longer physical", then why do people like Dubois claim that it is? These are her claims and no credible proof anywhere exists as confirmation. Those who believe them are deluded.

Mediumship and psychic abilities are not the same at all. What is no longer physical is the human spirit/energy when a material body dies. Alison claims to have the ability to sense feel hear and see the energy of the dead. You obviously need this explained to you. This will never make sense to you, you have made this clear. Whatever Allison "claims" is really absolutely irrelevant; she has never once, ever shown that she can "sense fell hear and see the energy of the dead." Sorry, you're wrong again. It is very easy to prove things that exist. Allison's absurd powers are either real or they are not; no two ways about it. If they are real, they exist in this world and can be measured, examined, etc. Proving these superpowers is a very, very easy process. She has avoided this testing all her career; wonder why? Meanwhile, there is no evidence to indicate whether an animal can sense a storm that I'm aware of.

Actually, no. I'm troubled by Dubois' claims that she has superpowers; not by anyone's beliefs. These claims are troubling because all the indications are that she is nothing more than a cheap liar preying upon the superstitious fears and misery of others. Whether she has superpowers can be tested and known as fact; it is not dependent in any way upon belief. The fact that she refuses all testing is very telling indeed. The only ones being abused are her followers; they are defrauded.
