the sad part about this is the peta people have tied the hands of true conservation hunters so when they leave their five year old alone for two mins in the back yard to get a glass of water and the kid gets bite, that same person that crys for us NOT to control the animal population by harvesting them now screams kill them all. We(hunters and trappers) are trying to keep the animals in check and if you think they can be relocated, where do you think they come from? they are over populatied
@woodsman6229 at 4:50 you can hear baby off in the distance crying the coyote turns it ear at it around 5:00 this is not going to be good and if shes reproducing it's not going to end with her good luck
The animal is better off being shot since it has gotten too comfortable being around people. A wild animal who loses its fear of humans is a dangerous one.
Not to mention that they will take out cats and smaller dogs.
my dad used to work as a security guard for a store in the middle of the country in michigan
one night he went to the bathroom and as he opened a door....a 150 lb coyote was 5 feet away from him and my dad (6'3'' 325 lbs) stood there and ran towards the coyote and the coyote jumped at him and my dad (who wears a size 16 ring) punched the coyote and it ran off
@2424cookie the store got it on camera and he came in the next day to get his paycheck and everyone was stand offish and he didnt know why....but 3 weeks later (he was fired cause of health reasons)

WHICH MY DAD WAS A SECURITY GUARD AT A MULTI-MILLION LANDSCAPING COMPANY
to me it almost looks like this coyote has the start of mange...notice the hairless tail and it just seems to be acting weird. Possible explanation of why it is not scared of people, and out during the day. I'm not expert but from hunting them and stuff this is just my opinion
man i go out for hours at a time and hunt these bastards and u got one of those damn things in your backyard. tell u what to do shoot the bastard take it to some checking station turn it in and depending on what area ur in make u a few bucks. not much but you'll be doin your community a favor just make sure u dont shoot facing any of those houses. and if u do shoot it take it on video and put it up with this link.goodluck.
Aren't Shiba Inus guard dogs by and large? I think it would've ruined the coyote if it got too close. Then again, that was big and tough looking for a coyote.
We've had coyotes kill our baby cows even had some try to mess with our horse and they got the shot kicked out of them we've even had them kill full grown cows while giving birth they're are becoming way overpopulated and something needs to be done to bad most people up north are to stupid to kill a coyote we kill close to 50 every year and they're still everywhere.
i remember when i was a kid, i used to call wolves coyotes too, i didn't know any better, but then i went to 3rd grade, this is a wolf, come one people, there's dumb, then there's not trying. Its probably not even a wolf, just a special breed of dog, its definitely not a coyote tho soo, move along

130 lbs is just huge for a coyotie :~0 sub-spciases who knows ? some people refer to large coyoties as red wolves. idk if its the sub spcies of coyotie the type with the darker colors almost that of a siberian huskie. my dogs killed coyoties that have gotten in our yard, but its bad when dogs do clash with them coz the coyoties might be carrying Rabbies ! :S
@mushmush7 a coyote is not going to mess with a 3000 lb cow all the livestock I saw attacked by coyotes were on the floor dying from starvation (the vets cows). In the wild they don't bother people either they are small won't risk it. I was playing on my grandparents farm when I was a boy saw coyotes running never gave it a second thought. The problems happen because people feed them and do not intimidate them when they approach
I had a pet coyote when I was a kid she was a 130 lb female (extremely large for a coyote average is around 30.) She was very tame and gentle she was raised from a newborn baby. However she was very timid around strangers. We also had a border collie it seemed to make socilizing with people easier for her
Isn't that the case. Wait until a little child is killed, then they will act like they never saw it coming! They are so brazen, that they were caught up on the front step of a farm house eating out of the dogs dish. My sister went to walk her dog on our farm, and the dog refused to budge past a certain spot. She was wary enough to 'listen', and look around, and from nearby trees saw eyes watching her. She beat a retreat back to the house, and took the dogs in. They are dangerous.
Dangerous animal, and coming into city due to ' pet' food supply, will snatch them off porches, and out of fenced yards. Been known to grab childs coat and try to pull child off-beaten back by neighbours, and shot by law. Killed young lady on Canadas east coast several years ago. Killed a friends young adult German Shepherd in their yard. Brutally kill infant livestock, despite alarms, electric fencing. Unpredictable and a lone one is odd, usually with mate or pack. This one maybe sick.
@arsimard Everything you said is so true. I have a neighbor who feeds ALL wild animals. I have to keep all my animals inside ALL the time. The farmer down the road from me has lost 13 lambs in the last 2 weeks. Some they just maul...not even eating them.....sickening! When they make a kill all you can hear is the feeding frenzy!
@mushmush7 I know, and it is so disturbing. Then we have the animal activists who are up in arms over the proposed culling of their population, when they start mauling infant farm animals (and I won't describe what they do, it is enough to give people nightmares), and try to take small children off town streets, not to mention pets. Then there is a need to cull their population so that they stay in the wilds and eat their 'normal diet. My sister and dog had a very close call at our farm.
@arsimard Last winter 2 different hunters took 82 coyotes from around here and still they are a problem this summer, My dog was killed by my pond a few years ago by coyotes. We need to cull more of them! Livestock and pets are not safe...never mind children. The ministries will only act when it is too late.
Love your coyote videos...when winter comes it will probably not survive because of the mange. How cold will it get where you are? We have a bug living in my pond called an Eastern Toe Biter ...looks a lot like that water scorpion you found. The Toe Biters can fly!
@RAVENakaR - just last year a coyote attacked a pitbull in my mother's are because the owner walked it near it's den where it had pups. There are many breeds though that can stand up to a coyote. Coyotes usually don't even mess with bigger dogs anyway.
What's the big deal? That coyote neither showed aggression nor hunting behaviour and how dangerous can it be if an old lady with a stick is enough to make it stop it's approach.
The lady is just asking for shit to happen by making a second pass with her dog. She should had kept going and cleared the area but she deliberately passed her dog by it again. Of course the Coyote would have been killed for doing what Coyotes do. Stupid humans
@TheTudiscoKid who is the moron here? you really believe that I would go on a coyote with my bare hands? please! I think you misunderstood me.... I was more writing like metaphorically!
anyhow, I don't wanna waste my time here with you. have a nice day!
that's the cemetery by metrotown. i live a block east of there and i'm pretty sure i saw the same coyote twice before. first time it was sitting on my front lawn at night looking at two little dogs in the yard across the street. second time it was 20 meters in front of me when i took my small dog out for walk at night. recently there's been a lot of missing cats in the neighborhood which some people say is because of this coyote.
@GhostDogx8 I know right .. I where i use to live we had coyotes and they would come up to my back yard and as soon as they see any sign of humans they would take off back into the woods .. I mean this coyote was just so curious .. maybe it was just admiring the dog and how it got along with the human ..
Dogs, cats and even small children have been killed by coyotes. This one was very interested in that dog, and since it was likely born in the city, is not afraid of the human owner.
That's kinda of disturbing how bold this coyote is. Im from OH and we hardly ever see coyotes they never get that close! I mean y is this one getting so close to humans? Its not even scared of that car flying by!!

74% of coyote attack incidents occurred in the last decade (1995 through 2004)
Injury to one or more persons occurred in 78 of 165 attack incidents
51% of the persons sustaining injury were adults or teenagers
23% of all coyote attacks were associated with the presence of pets (primarily dogs); that is, humans encountered aggressive coyote behavior toward dogs that were being walked, and in some cases people sustained injury in the act of attempting to rescue their pets from coyote attack.
putting "special Food" out for the coyote is the wrong way to deal with the situation, to many other animals around would eat it before the coyotes would and not good.....
We live down the around also and have seen many coyotes around, this one seems smaller than the ones we seen in the early morning. Have seen the old lady with dog many times, talked with her son I think one day and he claims that the dog Ito, is not scared of coyotes and has attacked a few when it was younger.....
Holy cow this lady lives at the end of my street! The dog is a miniature Japanese Akita. who has got to be about 15 years old now. His name is Ito. I saw him today so he survived this encounter, but i'm going to start taking a stick when I take my 17 month old son for walks! Thanks for sharing.

I know a lot of people out there would love to shoot a hundred coyotes, but I am not like that. They do help keep the rodent population from becoming overwhelming, so that's a plus. But this one really needs to be put down. Too bad you can't get a petition together to have someone capture it or kill it. I am surprised that someone hasn't laid out some "special meat" and that people tolerate having him around.
goes to show whats the point of a pinner dog :P who cares about coyotes i can take one on my self, my 2 boxers case bears outta my back yard daily... it's surprising how that dog does nothing, a dog can read the body language of another dog, and can sense the difference between a coyote and another dog
aww man..i wanted to see the ending ..i had similiar experience..i took my lab in the woods and a coyote came within 4 feet from us but it didnt do nothing..
by the look of it's tail the coyote has a slight case of mange or something O.o

Still, why would you let mid-sized predators run free in your city? We either shoot or relocate ours.

23% of all coyote attacks were associated with the presence of pets (primarily dogs); that is, humans encountered aggressive coyote behavior toward dogs that were being walked, and in some cases people sustained injury in the act of attempting to rescue their pets from coyote attack.

Coyotes are increasingly causing problems. They have no natural enemies anymore, since wolves and mountain lions are out of the picture.
If you see them in your area, I suggest carrying a stick (like this woman does) and perhaps a pistol.

putting "special Food" out for the coyote is the wrong way to deal with the situation, to many other animals around would eat it before the coyotes would and not good.....

@inuk604 Ito is a shiba inu, not a miniature akita. They are related but are different breeds. I know Ito too.

That coyote looks like it has mange, and should definitely be put down.
