@DBCOOPER888 - yeah... That's what I thought before attending - but then you enter society and the investment people told you it would be shows its value.
I'll give you one blatantly obvious example to throw sparks on the tinder... You'll kick yourself, as it was mentioned in the movie when Matt Damon's character seemed to be incoherently ranting at his wife (hilariously ironic coincidence, no?).
Mosaddegh!!!!
You should read a book called "The Ingenu" by Voltaire... it's not long.
@CohanDigitmatta Figured you'd bring that up. Operation Ajax is spouted off a lot. That happened over 50 years ago though. I was asking about modern dudes. Of course, in the grand scheme of things that's not a lot of time, but it might be more important to know who we can work with now, who are reformists and want to bring positive change, that we are currently classifying as an enemy or a terrorist.
@CohanDigitmatta Yeah, I see your point. The big problem is we help prop up some of the dictators, like Mubarak, to some extent Saddam back in his heyday, the House of Saud , etc. I think overall though the U.S. is trying to correct mistakes we made in the past, but then new unforeseen problems pop up because we ignored some other problem.

I like this film - it shows sad and bitter truth in our political life. George Clooney always showed one and the same typical acting but Finally he looked great and not monotonous. But I still think that he didn't deserve the Oscar - just because he showed nice serious acting (for the first time by the way) doesn't mean that they should give him the Oscar. Academics and critics are as corrupted as politicians. Sad, very sad but I still love this film very much
very few Arabs actually think like this, the corruption the pervades their society isn't just a result of "American money", it's a systemic result of their culture as a whole.

This is so relevant to current events (i.e. Gaddafi, Libya) it's mind boggling. Unfortunately it will probably continue being relevant for years.
The only aspect left out was the influence of the Israel lobby, which due to Jewish domination of Hollywood would never make it to theaters.
