I really like this twisted version!! In the older versions of which I've read two; her Father was either drugged to fallow his new wife's view, or he's so enthralled be her that he simply does what she wants over loving his daughter. I like the contrasting elements in this version.
In the beginning you get the impression that
the films takes place in earlier times but then
you're thrown off by seeing people in modern
clothing. The movie does have a fantasy feel
