Does the overdrive and distortion on the GT 8 sound better then the me 50. I have the me 50 and the overdrive and distortion sound ok but could be better. Is it all the same sounds in a bigger package.

@127rusty the me70 is like having 4 single pedals, so if you want a complete different tone maybe you´ll need to press a lot of footswitches. And the GT8 the switches are presets, so you can save a tone with the effects you want in a single footswitch. For me it´s better the GT8.

I use the EXACT set up. GT8~JC120 stereo fx. It can sound as great as you want it to. You HAVE to read the manual and go through the huge learning curve. The GT 8 doesn't sound nearly as good through any other amp IMO.

Actually if you really think GT 8 is one of the best of Boss Multi effect..why? It has mostly the effect you needed.. and you have all the control to tweak.. I have GT 10 but more on digital world. If you wanna buy used GT 8 for good price grab it.. but be sure the system works good..

@bailey32121 the GT-8 will let you have two amp sounds playing simultaneously, which gives you a really rich double guitar sound. the ME-70 includes a phrase loop, which means you can record a chord progression and then play a lead part on top of it.

if you want the best of both worlds, get the GT-10. or decide which feature you want more.

i have an ME-50 and a separate loop pedal. i want to upgrade to the GT-8 and keep my loop pedal (which has more memory for longer recording time anyway)

I found that if you don't have a roland jc 120 like in this video, you never gonna get

I agree, I've got mine going thru mixer, but when I hook it up to my amps, I use a fender rumble (bass amp 25 watt)on the bottom and a Kustom Dart 10 fx on top, sometimes in mono, but mostly in stereo, sounds great

I call bullshit on the channel-controlled pick attack being GT8 exclusive... the Rockman modules produced by Scholz R&D had a function called "Autoclean" that did the same thing, years before the GT-8

Anyone that cannot produce professional sound out of the BOSS GT-8, doesnt fuck with it enough or doesnt have any clue what they're doing. I play mine through a Marshall JCM800 tube monster and it's better than i ever expected it could be. I previouisly always used analog effects , so as not to color the sound. However if tweaked correctly, it acheives equal or better sound than ive ever had , but, with Maer.ssive effects combinations in a single pedal.

I've got one and for the money (about $350-$400) it has a ton of features! I would definitely buy it again, but with the release of the GT-10, I may have to go with that. Never the less, the GT-8 is an excellent processor for the money. You could buy about 3-4 individual pedals for the same money this costs.

You get an average, but no ingenius sound...

Tenho um sim. Comprei em Janeiro/2008. É perfeitamente possível ligar o GT-8 tanto em amplificadores de guitarra normais, quanto direto na mesa de som por exemplo. E é aí que a simulação COSM entra em ação. Simulação de amp, caixa, microfone e posicionamento são fantásticos!

i dont know, i just ordered this after listening to line 6's x3 live. the distortion on that just sounds too digital, and i dont think it a a bank switch pedal. But, the x3 does have bass, and vocal processors, along with a usb out. I dont think either of those have editing software, which digitechs gnx3000 has, and thats the other unit i was lookin at. i do look forward to getting my gt8 though, and seeing how it sounds.
