Thanks curt for all these videos, I know u put alot of effort into these videos and they turn out great, and we appreciate it. My question though was what is the difference between 3.0 and 3.1.3? What do you prefer? And to restore from 2.2.1, do u just go to iTunes and click restore iPod?

Hey the jailbreak went smoothly for me, although now cydia won't work. I get to tell it what type of user I am and it closes out. I guess I will try to rejailbreak and see what happens.

DO NOT INSTALL ICY, redsnow stops working for some reason if you choose to install icy, but works fine if you dont..maybe it works on xp, i done mine on vista...

yeah mans, its a vista only problem -> same thing happens with quickfreedom. i installed quickfreedom on my vista comp, bang, completely dead. i lost evvverything.

works completely fine on XP though, just make sure you're not on vista or 7 lol.

dude, when you restore it, do you have to restore your apps, music etc too?

Before I do anything I always "Back UP" my iPod under iTunes. Before you restore right click your ipods name and click Back Up. Then when you're done with the jb just restore from back up when you click your ips name

Followed everything exactly but got stuck at "waiting to reboot" and then ipod went black and was unresponsive. I was able to get it back up by attempting dfu again but was forced to restore it to factory settings. I am hesitant to try another JB again. Any suggestions? BTW, using touch 2G, 3.0 firmware, 0.7.2 redsn0w on xp sp3.

hey curt. I love your videos btw. very in-depth and informative. I have been having problems getting my ipod touch into dfu mode recently. I previously had my ipod jailbroken with 2.2.1 but now i am running 3.0. I cannot, for the life of me, get the ipd into dfu mode. I followed your directions exactly to the dfu mode and it still will nto work for me. some help would be much appreciated.
