I love this song! Its my freshmen year of High School, and iv been playing Alto Sax for about 4 years and due to lake of oboes i was chosen to play oboe for this song. In 5 days i was able to pick of on the oboe enough to play the solo in the beginning and i must say it was the hard thing i probably ever did in my life.

My symphonic band in high school is playing this piece right now and it is an amazing piece.The tempo in this performnce is much faster and I dont quite like it as much but still very nice.

think the oboe player is in a hurry... why does he play the solo so fast and without emotion? don't like the sax solo either. the player's tone is rather small... no drama in it. and why staccato anyway? the orchestra as a whole is great though! especially like the crescendos in the finale part. good job!

I couldn't agree with you much more. This band is a truly good band, but in technical stuff. In terms of emotion and such, they couldn't bring that across. But than again, they do receive credit for their awesome skills tho! (:

this is a very well composed song and is well performed by this band. i wish the the band would have slowed the tempo down or kept the same tempo instead of speeding up during that 1st sax. solo.....

A local high school in Hawaii played this piece this past district festival, and it was quite remarkable (the piece I mean). I wish our director exposed us to more must like this, outside of schmultzy James Swearingen stuff.

It looks fake because the image is delayed (I don't know why. It may be a problem during the conversion to mpeg4), but the tempo is real. Anyway, this is one of the best spanish bands.

I'm not too sure you know what you are talking about. The song sounds real, the recording looks real. Maybe you have a problem streaming this clip and that's why it looks fake. Any high quality band would be able to play it that fast or faster, just wouldn't sound very good if it was too fast. This is a great band.

the image is delayed because as bands play, especially in a big auditorium like that, their sound projects a couple seconds later to the audience, especially if you're in the back.

we played this my junior year too.. love this piece so much.. except during the really intense part at around 4:15 our flute players had these old school medieval flutes.. it was pretty hard core.. p.s. i find it sad slash funny that the video and the sound are so far about..

That part is supposed to be played with traditional Irish tin whistles by the flutes. At least, that's how it was marked in our music.

Very nice performance... we are playing this song at our next concert... and i can tell this is also a unique performance. It seems to me that you added accents.... or maybe emphasized them more than a normal band would... but out of all the times i listened to this song, i never quite heard it played like that. Good job.
