@zangazoo2007 To be precise... Iron Maiden were formed on Christmas Day 1975. Think of them as a metal present to the whole world. So, Maiden was formed before Saxon. Nevertheless, Iron Maiden's first studio album, called "Iron Maiden", came out in 1980, while Saxon made their official debut in 1979 with "Saxon". I know for sure Maiden produced stuff before that and that not all of their songs were "new" for the album.

@Narutofan9993 Well I count the first record The Sound House Tapes because most of what was on that made it to the debut album. Yes that was a demo/EP, but they definitely made a name for themselves with Neal Kay and The Bandwagon. :-) Either way both Saxon and Maiden are brilliant bands :-)

I've seen steam trains in action here in the states (3751 and 844 to name a couple) and they are impressive pieces of machinery.

Kirk Hammet is the biggest Saxon fan ever, he said so, when he joined Metallica the Seek & Destroy solo was the one Dave Mustaine wrote for the song and Kirk did not like it, and he decided to use this one because the intro to the solo is the same sequence of notes as the intro used in this song.... dont say that METALLICA RIPPED OFF! just because you dont like Metallica, they made a tribute to Saxon and when you say they ripped it off you are insulting Saxon aswell dont forget....

In fact, it's quite obviously a Saxon rip-off. Call it a tribute or whatever, they blatantly stole the idea, not that I care because as a musician, you'll do it at some point, intentionally or not. And Metallica were highly original despite all the ripping off they did.

I like the gritty roughness the song offers; I just honestly thought the track could have been better played. Off the top of my head, a professional trumpet player I've played with quoted Frosty the Snowman in a solo, because he freaking could. If that's okay in jazz, that genre which holds up innovation in every song as a goddamn requirement, it's okay in metal.
