  • yai belived in hho about a year ago but ive done research and the ammount of gas it makes isnt enough to overcome the ammount of amps it draws. if you have about 20 of them run off batterys in the trunk it would make a difference =)

  • Great to see a like minded Brit.

I'm absolutely infatuated with alternative energy on youtube, well done for for the experiment.

I made my HHO Generator on a smaller scale. Coffee Jar, Old wire stanly blades and two 9V batterys only bubbled the plates like frog spawn. also unsuccessful with the amount of gas produced.

  • Try to put the stainless steel plates closer. About 1-2 mm away. Your production will increase a lot, and the current too :D

  • There is no hydrogen stations where Im at. I drive all around the desert and LA never seen one.

  • Hi guy, I used such containers a while back, but build my own now, all these containers leak on the lid, so be aware guys, to check what im saying out 4 youre self, just power it up, and stick the unit in a bucket of water, or put some soapy washing up liquid round the seals and connections and watch the bubbles come through, ck it out, be safe. & remain active LOL..

  • And we still slave and give up lives for Oil. This world needs an ass kicking!

  • Indeed.

  • the hydrogen car is ready and sitting in a warehouse.your little opec company who rules our pocket books, will not open hydrogen stations, No one has the money to open up any hydrogen filling stations, because we are all enslaved to the banks> They wont give anyone anything let alone money to open a hydrogen station, Obama is a joke!! No electric cars but lets bail out the car companies

  • @silverpizza100 there are hydrogen filling stations all over the place guy, compressed LPG, is the same thing, & HHo, woud be a water filling station, { A Tap.}

  • if you put some soap in the bubbler the hydrogen bubbles don't disappear so you can scup them on your hands and lite them

  • you need to run your plates with a stan meyers circuit. high voltage super low amps is the key! check out the vancouver gadgeteers (they are selling an exact replica of stan meyers circuit!!!)

  • The Taiwanese have just developed a marketable hydrogen phone generator. I wonder if they benefited from the research done here on YouTube?

  • Nice job on the generator!

It will never give any extra power in a car though as the load you put on the alternator drawing current will increase the alternator drive belt resistance and slow down the engine leading to increased fuel consumption.

So the energy taken to separate the hydrogen will be more than you get back from it, once you have added in all the losses in the system.

  • try splitting the output tube in two check valves on both output ends. Have one end inserted or teed off with the PCV and the other in front of the throotle body............. what most people haven't learned about HHO is that when you apply vacuume to your cannister you greatly increase production and draw fewer amps.......vaccuume is also a form of wasted energy produced by your vehichle

  • I love HHO however it's a fallacy to think that pollution will be eliminated by powering your car with HHO. Electrolysis requires electricity, electricity requires fuel to generate (unless wind, thermal well, underwater, or solar; still inefficient ways to generate electricity). The best bet for this type of trend would be nuclear power for electrolysis. Nuclear = most efficient and highest yielding, zero exhaust pollutant, and cheapest. Only downside is spend nuclear waste... easily disposed.

  • As followed by bjk14510 , if copper in corrosive solution will cause explosion , what material we should use as wire?

  • Kool, nice job, im also tryn to make a hydrogen generaotr for my 66 mustang so im try to get info from every one whos making homemade generators. I was wondering if you can tell me y you r using stainless steel plates??? My chemistry teachers have told me that it oxidizes fast and the plates wouldn't last very long. How long have ur plates last you?

  • Lack of awareness at the time of making them. I only did this as an experiment - haven't taken it further.

  • copper wires in crosive solution, very bad idea, big boom!

  • Did you use a splint (the pop test) to see if it really hydrogen?

  • see the video at 3:50

  • If you want to impress me, take any size engine connect it to an alternator. See if you can use the alternator to make enough HHO to run the engine. You will need a battery to get the alternator started charging. If that could be done it would show that HHO will supply more energy than the alternator pulls from the engine, allowing an increase in MPG.

I say it can not be done. Prove me wrong.

And Please no bullshit about hho improving the combustion of gasoline, That is not true.

  • Well I would agree that you don't increase the combustion value of gasoline without changing octane. I see where you would improve fuel economy in a car. Systems such as MAP and O2 sensors, EGR (Exhaust gas recirculation) and MAF (mass air flow) sensors take a readout of the air density and temp being taken in, then regulates the air/fuel ratio to maintain a consistent mix. Adding hydrogen would cause the cpu to mix less fuel, thus running the car (lean). That's why a faulty O2 sensor kills mpg

  • As far as the electrical side of things goes, here he's using a 15 amp fuse. In automotive wiring, 15 amp circuits are what power your average car radio. Here, this unit is pulling voltage and is fused so that it does not exceed that (wire into your fuse panel would only turn HHO on when you start your vehicle. people do this so faulty cooling fans run while the car is turned on). Cars have a 12v system equipped with a voltage regulator because alternators generate excess. No overdrawing risk

  • Your generator looks great. nice job. just a few safty concerns. plastic is better to use in a cell incase of an explosion. no glass shards. also use stainless steel bands or liquid electricle tape on those connections. copper will corrode quickly, spark and boom. hho burns 1000 times quicker than petrol. stay safe, nice job and enjoy, you are doing great.

  • Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions on how to keep the water from freezing in the cell in winter when not in use?

  • look in my favorite suppose be somewhere there gook lock

  • can you pls tell us what did you mix in the water thanks

  • bicarbonate of soda (baking powder) - about 2 teaspoons

  • Try to reduce the gap between the plates to about 2 mm.....you will be surprised

  • great!

  • Can you heat your home with an HHO generator?

  • possibly, but it sounds like it might be pretty dangerous.

  • Hey mate! So how's the road testing going with your HHO setup? What sort of MPG increase have you achieved at what flow rate?

Very professionally done vids man. Good work!

  • Hello mate. Unfortunately the HHO project seems to have died a natural death at the moment. I had a go at making a water vapor catched but still some vapor made it's way past it. Thats the point at which the project ground to a halt.

Eventually I would like to go back to this and have another go, but for now my time, and other projects will not allow it. Thanks for the interest though.

  • i was bout to ask hehe, i already looked for a follow up video didn't see

i studied electronics have great interest in technology chemistry etc etc found this very cool to watch.

I have played with organic materials to make batteries run a computer, like the potato projects seen online

this is something i will try soon very cool!

  • if you can make a pulse generator for the electrical current, the generator will be much more efficient. I don't have the electronic knowledge so gave up. for more info, just look at the other HHO videos on youtube

  • Ive studied electronics i can give you a schemtic for a adjustable pulse genrator

With a very simple Timer Chip LM555 Resitor and capictor

i have one here (its making a LED blink) adjustable in speed by the capitctor and resitor values ill send you if you want how to make

  • Thanks for the offer, but I'm done with this project now.

It's an artist thing. I can only spend so long on a project before I have to walk away from it and move on to something else. But I recommend you have a go at it. Someone with your practical skills could really make something of this!

  • I have 19 plates in my cell 2+ 3- and 2 neutral plates between each charged plates, when running in my vehicle it produces about 1/2Lpm when cold and draws about 20A after it gets warmed up, thats using 1/2Tbs of bakingsoda in my container, I'm not really sure how much water is in it.

I wanna try using a car battery, I didn't think of that, thanks for the idea Lucydarling21.

  • 1. Get an old car battery.

    2. CAREFULLY empty all the acid and sludge from the inside. Clean with water to rid debris.

    3. Connect a 12v supply or another battery IN SERIES to the old battery. Fill old battery with clean water.

    4. Make hole for gas to escape.

    5. Use HHO.

  • so your saying I can just use the block of an old wet cell battery and just fill it with water and hook the terminals like you would jump a battery and then that will also produce the HHO gas?

  • I have the same idea as you. However, I have not really tried it. What is your experience. How much hho did you manage to generate per minute? Thanks...

  • very well presented ... it is obvious you did your homework ... am anxious to see your in car test results ... seems that fuel savings vary from install to install, car to car ... largest MPG increases are being reported by folks with larger engines ... seems small fuel effiecient cars get less of a gain ... still much testing needs to be done ... best results are being turned in with between 500 ml/min to 2 L/min type units ... more than this seems to be a problem ...

    thanks for your help

  • Is any of that gas Oxygen?

  • Yes, it is both oxygen and hydrogen. The oxygen makes it highly flammable and ideal to aid combustion in engines, but because of the oxygen content, it is also highly dangerous to store - that's why these systems are "on-demand" ie. The gas gets used straight away and is not stored.

  • Hi , thanks for the comment. you can get mason jars on eBay, or any home-depo-type stores

  • Your well on your way, if you want I can send you some of my plans for some of my cells if you want, at no charge:) One of my cells I use strait rain water and it works very well, cut my gas from 15 mph to 32 mph. Anyway keep up the great work for energy independance is a worthy goal.

  • Many thanks for the offer of plans. I'll hold off for now and have a play with the gap on this one. I'll give you a shout if I decide to take it to the next level and build a MK3 version.

  • spacing gap is too large..it should be least 3mm close together.

  • thanks for the advice - I was only able to produce about 1/2 litre of gas in 4 minutes with this setup which is rubbish, so I will have a go at reducing the gap and see what happens.

  • Spacing isn't that important. I have made so many cells, I've lost count. My best cell has 6mm gaps. However, I have had similar results with 1mm gap. Use a good electrolyte, NOT anything hydroxide, or salt. You should get > 500ml/min at 18-20 amps 12 volts. Have fun, that's the important thing. AND BE CAREFUL!

  • That would save people ALOT of fuel!

  • Great project! I hope you are able to get it to work in your vehicle. I don't want to miss this!!

  • nice video it sounds great

    keep doing things like that

  • Wohoo. Simpsons fan. hehe. That was even cooler than MK1. I want to make one too. But i want to use 25A 12V x 2.(PSU from Computer) With bigger aluminium plates. That might give it more of juice and stability. Dam i wanna try to hook a engine on this. hehe

  • sounds and looks great! :)

  • Peace and Love! Thanks for the Time To Share Your Project with US.

  • cool video dude...1 major thing i have to say that bugged me tho was you in that chair going side to side im now SEA SICK lol (im not but felt it)lol

hope this works for the van tho should be cool to see it when i come over i know you get excited to show ya projects off!! lol

    good work dude!!
