  • nice!

  • luvin nureyev :) great dancer! great teacher, the dancers are so lucky to have him as teacher. i can only imagine the pressure on them

  • Even when he's not even trying that hard, he's amazing.

  • I think he's with Charles Jude Paris Opera?

  • @duneire1 Babes, that ain't Jude and it's definitely not Paris Opera. Also this is early mid 70s at latest way before he began at POB. Given that he's speaking English and looking at how raw this corps de ballet is, I would hazard a guess it's either his staging on Sylphides on Canadian National Ballet or Australian Ballet, especially given the timeline he worked with both young companies in the early 70s

  • Anyone know what company he is rehearsing with?

  • Nureyev is rehearsing the Royal Ballet's Corps de Ballet for a performance with Nureyev & Fracci in La Sylphide that was seen in the film "I Am a Dancer". (This clip was filmed either 1971 or 1972.) If you want to see how beautifully this turned out, you can click on More From: plhbf and then click on Rudolf Nureyev & Carla Fracci: 'La Sylphide'. The last minute or so of that clip shows these dancers performing this. Bravo to all!

  • Great vid. five stars!!!!!

  • this is priceless really... thanks a lot for positng this plhbf, I can´t imagine how nervous the dancers got... it must have been really stressing to dance for Nureyev...

  • Fascinating to watch - from Nureyev's "No" headshake at 22-24 seconds til you can see it start to come together. Loved this. Thank you plhbf for posting this and so many other great pieces.
