Compare a video of music from the SNES version with the Sega Genesis (or even this) version. The SNES version was a FAR more musically faithful to the arcade version than the Sega Genesis (and the 32x apparently) because of the inferior sound processing system.

If you're talking about aesthetic appreciation of the music, that could be considered something subjective, but its silly to say that the Genesis version (in terms of musical quality) was on par with the SNES.

if you guys actually look at the designs/costumes for many of the mk characters especially for mk 2. they are all based off of central asian looks/culture like afghanistan/mideast. because kitana/melienna/jade outfits are likemiddle eastern style very mysterious especially with them veils covering their face. and shang tsung looks more like an afghan asian in mk2 than a chinese dude. because in mk2 shang tsung has a tan! and islam hat.

MK2 on the 32x is more accurate and faithful to the arcade version than the snes version gameplay wise and rsponsiveness, anyone who will argue will just use the SOUND was better on snes despite it having less sounds than this version and downgraded graphics (smaller sprites). Whoever said the snes version had better graphics is CLEARLY being a bit of a fanboy becos it hasnt.

@DrakeGonBizzy your absolutely correct there, the flow of the game and speed in the 32x version is spot on however the snes was a great version but i felt it played a bit off compared to all other versions, and 32x has more colours,sounds and speech than the snes and its clearer too though so i dunno what peoples gripe with the sound is. a pretty much perfect version for the time, just a shame nobody had the 32x lol.

@DrakeGonBizzy No, the backgrounds of the 32x port are using the Genesis hardware and are poorer looking that the SNES backgrounds (less colors, more dither, etc). But it's not a huge factor when playing the game. AFAIK, the only thing the 32x is displaying is the sprites (compared to the original Genesis version).

@laparka3000: The guy who "appears out of nowhere" is Dan Forden, who worked on the sound and music for the game. When he appears on the Portal stage, if you quickly press down on the D-Pad + Start you will then get to fight Smoke. Not Noob. Noob Saibot appears as an opponent after a certain number of victories in 2 player mode. That number varies with each version. On the 32x, I believe it's 25 consecutive wins in two player mode.

In fact, there were a few worthwhile or faithful arcade ports for the 32x, such as Virtua Racing Deluxe, Virtua Fighter, WWF Wrestlmania, Star Wars Arcade where the only home port was the Sega 32X; Space Harrier, After Burner Complete and even NBA Jam: Tournament Edition. They all have cleaner visuals, and USUALLY better sound than their genesis counterparts
