  • One of the greatest themes of all time.Love it so epic and iconic.R.I.P Ron.

  • I agree with 11yolkel, this man was one of the finest writers of our time.

  • Majestic music reminding me of my days at sea. Can't hear it without seeing spray flying from the bows of my ship as she "hits a milestone"!

  • I ran my second london Marathon this year with this music in my head!! Wish I was doing it next year too!

  • IT'S A TRAP

  • Oh I didnt realise it was a song until nearly halfway through the vid XD

  • where can I get the music of the film THE TRAP?

  • SIR RON GOODWIN - THAT IS WHAT IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

When you look at the dumbells that have been knighted - it's a crime !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fab score to a the best romantic movie ever!

  • Either this isn't Ron Goodwin conducting or there's something wrong with the recording. I love this song, but in this rendintion, there are no nuances, no playfulness, no joy, just a painful-playing-the notes. Better listen elsewhere folks.

  • ITS A TRAP!!!!!

  • I love this.

  • good stuff , always reminds me of sailing ships

  • its all what you can make ?

  • Stayed on Radio Luxembourg almost a year!

  • Goodwin - someone to run for !

  • ron is one of the best superb orchestra

  • The photography of the Yukon (whist the opening titles plays) is fabulous.

  • This has the tingle factor in spades - makes me think of setting out on as great sea faring voyage with rough seas and high spirits.......

  • Marvellous music, wish I could get a dvd of the film instead of an old videotape in German.

  • @jagersvrouw visit a certain site: Stagevu. Very fast download too :)

  • brilliant

  • Does anyone know the lyrics? Oliver Reed sings bits of it in the film.

  • @twiskins

.'When I'm a man I'll take me a wife, and live in a house on a hill, a hill...(something something) and she shall have diamonds & pearls, and pearls, and she shall have diamonds and pearls!'

Can't help humming this whenever I go canoeing.

  • ron goodwin is a modern day ralph vaughan williams thats praise enough !!

  • The London Marathon theme. I've done it twice: 2005 and 2007.

    Brilliant tune.

  • I've done the Flora London Marathon twice: 2005 and 2007.

The iconic piece of music to stir the thoughts of all of us marathon runners.

  • I am very sad so few people are voting for this piece of music! A classic film theme! And the theme to the London Marathon! Ron Goodwin was a composer not recognised in his lifetime for his music! But... we can make a difference! Let's get Ron belatedly knighted or at least Honoured in someway! Think of the film themes he composed!

  • Fantastic well put together (well made ) funny all round brilliant Ron this must be your job .

I have never been so Entertaind by Any game video as i have with this, thank you !.

  • Many thank for placing this amazing soundtrack of the Sidney Hayers film.

    Viele Grüße aus Bremen

  • Very fun your video

    about Bob Sow . . .

the true Game for the End of 2010 ? ? ?

    First info about it in 2005 ! ! !

  • good luck to all the runners tomorrow

  • I watch the London Marathon every year just to hear this music. It's so good. I never thought to look on You Tube, and here it is! Thanks so much for posting.

  • We have been given permission by the UK Cabinet Office to apply for the composer of this music, Ron Goodwin, to be belatedly knighted for his services to cinema music. If you want to show your support for this please message me! This site will not let me publish the email link! We have already had emails of support from the UK, The Netherlands, New Zealand the USA and we have only been going a week! If it makes people go to London and run 28 miles for charity - Ron deserves a quick email surely

  • @lincsposter

I fully support your cause for Ron Goodwin to be Knighted he made some fantastic records and film music I saw this whilst I was searching for a piece of music of his called The Headless Horesman which my mother loved,I hope you are succesfull Good Luck..

  • @curlypete1 Sorry, but I think Ron died a few year ago. Don't think they do posthumous knighthoods.

  • Been there

    Done that

    2005

    Gained 6st since!!!!

  • Makes you want to go london and run 28 miles doesn't it??

  • This......... is the greatest. Many thanks for posting!

  • Also know to every Brit as The London Marathon music :)

  • It`s took me ages to find this music for my wife! She knew the film starred Oliver Reed & Rita Tushingham and was released in 1966 but we didn`t know who did the musical score .....until now!! Thanks for posting :o)

  • love the opening seen that this goes with, with the guy paddling down the river.

  • I saw The trap when I was 13.......at a theater in North Vancouver. Chief Dan George of North Vancouver has a cameo part in the movie. Dan George was the old indian grandfather of Dustin Hoffman in Little Big Man. anyways this peice of music by Ron Goodwin really adds magic to the movie......great opening scene.Oliver Reed fantastic in the part.

  • May maggots eat your hair follicles!

  • one of my favourites.Perfect complement to the amazing scenery in the film. Thanks.

    Sandra
