In my Top 5 for all-time best Sega Genesis tracks. A shame there isn't an epic boss in this game to give this song justice. Me thinks I should suggest this song to PowerGlove for remake.
@roxahris 1 year old comment and all, but I'm guessing he meant that audio-wise. Genny's audio has always been better for crude, pure hot blooded rocking beats, whereas the SNES has always been better for orchestra and ambient sounds.
SEGA did what Nintendidn't... sadly, not anymore.
I hope they'll decide to participate in the console business again before I die.
That's why perhaps we have so many very nice songs on Genesis games :)
The composers couldn't rest on some pseudo midi-realistic sounds (I don't bark on the SNES but for me, if there is no sound, even if melodies are nice, I can't like the song) so they had to be creative.
Actually, Atlus is currently working on a Zelda throwback-style game called 3D Dot Game Heroes. Oddly, it has more in common with Zelda itself than this title.
@TraumaFox Legal rights of this game are Sega's property. You just need to pay attention to the game copyright to check it. Nextech was the developer, that's correct, but the game still belongs to Sega. The difference with Atlus is that they were just the North American publisher, but the game doesn't belong to them like in Sega's case, which self-published the game in Japan and Europe.
idd sega is like raw meat made for viking, while nintendo is medium rare etc for the fat kids that like chiken and wel roasted beef.sega is for wolves straight and raw into you're face.
the game is cool, but the legend of zelda is the best game in all the world

I would love if someone plays this song with instruments

Pssh, don't be hating. Especially considering how SEGA's history contains a fair few more... non-hardcore games.

After something like 10 years, I replayed this game and discovered that the story was waaaaay deeper than I thought.
Killing monsters never felt so wrong...
