President & Mrs. Reagan were fans of the Beach Boys. The band was banned from playing in Washington on July 4th by Secretary of Interior James Watt, banned until Mrs Reagan found out about the ban. Once she found out, she went to bat for the Beach Boys and Mr Watt ate some crow and the band played in front of 750,000 people July 4, 1884!
