My Dad bought one of these.......with a 383 when I was in high school. Was a luxury muscle car...then he got a 72 NY Bougham coupe 440....woof, was a beast in sheep's clothing!
I used to have one of these. Great ride and plenty of power. I bought it in 1989 and kept her for a few years. Unfortunately I live in northeast Ohio and rust eventually started to get the best of her. My mechanic bought the car for the 440ci engine to use in a race car. Could not imagine filling her with $4.25 per gallon premium fuel and the 10 mpg today. It had a 24 gallon tank so do the math. I guess if i drive a vehicle that get 10 mpg it better be a one ton truck.
My father bought a aqua blue Newport in '69.I will always remember the day he pulled out to pass a guy who was determined he was'nt going to be passed. Well, he was passed . I looked at the speedometer to see how fast we were going and didn't see the needle(120+).This experience I will remeber for a lifetime and will be the one of the reasons I will only own Chryslers.
good video. have any of you fellas saw the wow cheats pack on warcraftbotsXinfo (replace X with .) ? its incredible, i recently down loaded the pack. its got totally everything inside it, gold guides, bots, hacks, glitches and even the new arena glitch. i perhaps shouldnt reveal to people about this but at least it offers you all a reasonable chance to dl it before i own all of you
@Lumotaku Close. The bluesmobile was a 74 Monaco. The Royal Monaco was the hidden headlight version made from 75-77 or 78. All the white copcars in the movie were Royal Monacos.
These cars deserve respect...they were built in a day before Socialist presidents and America bowing to Arab/Muslim world domination. Gas was less than 30 cents a gallon and these cars were mechanically bulletproof, nicely styled, and comfortable to ride in.
@gojoe283 I'll drink to that. I currently drive a 73 Imperial. 440 v8, 5300 lbs. indestructable transmission. Turns heads everywhere. I tell people, my car was made when nobody dared mess with the USA, and the whole world envied our cars and standard of living. While everybody drives a prius, I'm driving my little piece of America.
Yeah i kno my grandfather and i love old fashion car`s and he bought me this one when i turned 17 which was 3 months ago and i was amazed at how big it was its HUGE and i LOVE it
nice car, definitely one of the best years of the automotive industry.

I love that music in the background. Its almost hypnotic.

@Philip8510
The music is "Moments" produced by the jingle king Steve Karmen who was also responsible for the "I Love NY" campaign.

I believe the '70 had the hideaway lamps...

@drewwestinghouse Newports and New Yorkers had exposed lamps. 300s got covered lamps. Year isn't tne determining factor.
brad404 2 years ago
@drewwestinghouse the royals and some newports didnt have the hideaways. they were standard on 300s and newyorkers
