appology for my rudely stated comment . I was expecting a fight. In responce to your query. All Aircraft take-offs are based on certain envioronmental as well as equipment factors. A properly trained Pilot ( or )

Engineer can literally tell you to the inch / foot exactly how far they will roll down a runway before having the appropriate velocity for takeoff. 01.) Wieght of ( Empty ) Airframe....cont.

@john4short 02.) Wieght of ALL Cargo/Frieght/Passengers/Food/­Etc... 03.) Wieght of fuel load.

04.) Outside Ambient Temperature 05.) Barometric Pressure-( Altitude above OR below Sealevel )

06.) Prevailing winds / compass direction of runway 07.) Finally, Is runway an UP-Hill run OR a downhill run? Much of this information is available to ANY Crewmember Via a Pre-recorded loop on a local UHF Channel. All other Information can be attained from the Tower. After ALL Factors are accounted for....

need to get the Airframe Airborne. Or, MORE Importantly. IF There is enough Runway available to get the hell off the ground before running out of Runway! Which, is WHY ALL commercial Aircrews ALWAYS

Pre-determine ALL these factors BEFORE ever even starting their engines. OH! & I forgot to mention one of the MOST Important factors.....08.) WHAT is the length of the available Runway?

Yeah , My dad works for emirates he does the load sheet telling the pilot the trim level , Weight and fuel on board etc .. So he told me all of that stuff .. lol .. How is it possible to stand there? Is that area open to the public? Do you need special permission to go there?

this is the famous runway cross at zurich airport. you have to take an airport tour( 8 swiss francs, not much) then you are driving on the zurich airport area and you can see all the "sights" ;-) then you are going to stop at the runway cross for about 10-15 mins and you might see nice take offs like this one. If you take the tour at about 1 pm you'll see all long haul planes off SWISS taking off..you definitly shoul visit switzerland once ;-)open to public, but security check!
