I'm sorry. I, like you, didn't know about the Mother series at the time and didn't realize that his character development was wrong. I will take back that he is a wimp even though he sure acts like it in those scenes (once again it's not his fault, it is the fault of the developers)
And for future reference, Ness isn't Lucas's brother and both of them are freaking amazing.

Because he freaks in SSBB when a couple monsters appear. Then he wimps out when Wario steals Ness right after Ness saved him from being turned into a trophy.
This game is really awesome. My boyfriend tried beating through adventure mode on just normal and it got insanely diffcult around the 20th and 30th levels.
