I think the Tea Parties were a good idea and the basic premise was correct. The only problem is that they allowed "social conservatives" to sneak in their own messages, thereby diluting the original meaning and giving the media ammo to be used against them. The idea of abolishing the income tax is a completely non-partisan one. No one wants money stolen out of their paycheck, however many people will be relectant to associate themselves with xenophobes, and "pro-life" loons.
For example at 7:33 when the guy says "Acorn better watch out". That was stupid. What the hell does Acorn have to do with the income tax? Acorn doesn't mean anything to anybody except for the most spiteful Obama haters. Now I don't support most of Obama's policies, but people are taking this Obama hate way too far. The guy is without a doubt a step up from the Bushes and Clintons we've had in office for the last 20 years.
I personally voted for Ron Paul in the primaries and I voted for Ralph Nader in the general election, but even though none of my candidates won I was still glad to see McCain/Palin lose. Obama may be a socialist, but I would rather have a well-meaning person with ideological differences from me as president than a hopelessly corrupt politician who simply tells people what they want to hear.
