Good way to lose your ear to infection. There are very few ways to properly sterilize things in a home for this type of thing. You would have to bring the needle up to a minimum temp and hold it for a length of time for proper sterilization. Just holding the needle in a flame for a few seconds is not nearly enough.

Did mine at a piercing shop last week. $25 well spent including the surgical stainless earring. No gloves dirty hands. Mine was done in 15 seconds BOOM done business with a surgical needle. Felt a little pinch for a second. No pain. Getting a shot or getting blood taken is worse. I want 3 more. I love it . I cant wait to get more in the ear. I rather pay $25 instead of running around the house with dirty hands from my homie. Just my opinion. But..people been doing it at home forever.
