The fights in Phantom Menace and Empire are the kind of fights that I want.

The fights in the others all sucked.

If they could only mix the skill and emotion, with some mistakes and more raw-strength like in empire, that we could have some real kick-ass-ness.

@smilodnfatalis55 I don't know what exactly they are, but it looks like you could make some replicas. Use some lightweight poles (solid tent poles from the really old tents) and either make lightsaber handles or nick the ones off the toy lightsabers. Whatever they are using, it doesn't look expensive or high tech as Ewan is bending his every session from the force of the blows.

i wish they lightsaber duels in episodes two and three were more like this. this fight made it look like they were actually trying to kill each other. in two and three its so horrible because it looks like theyre on a flagline in highschool or something.

By the way, does anyone know how old Ewan is? (In this video and now.) I know he was really young in Moulin Rouge which finished a few months before Star Wars but I never found out his age! It's so weird tosee someone as SEXY as Ewan McGregor to be such a big Star Wars fan, I mean he knows the colors of the lightsabers of the different people and he TOTALLY gets into the saber fights (unlike Liam Neeson but he's older and he's wife just died so you got to give him some credit even though she died waaay after this was filmed!!) I mean waht wwas up with that?? YES I know when Jedi die they beceome 'one with teh forcee' but that was ridiculous!! What did he do?< 'disappear commit suicide' b/c he knew he was going to get cut in half? The newer duels are awesome!! I only wish Anakin and obi wan could have been on level ground the whlole time

@cerasi209 Good point, however I still like the old ones because it had more of a samurai feel to them. The light saber fights seemed like the sabers were heavy like a samurai katana sword. The new films saber fights was to fast. Sometimes a fight can look to choreographed. For example Bruce Lee was super fast but he slowed down his speed to add drama and intensity to the fight. The Luke and Vader duels had an intensity you dont see in the new one.

Yeah, the fights in the movies were good but I think Lucas held them back a little. Which is too bad because this was his chance to really show what a trained Jedi and Sith could do. The Maul Obi Wan fight should've just been the tip of the iceberg. As it stands it was the most intense fight yet.

Actually Ewan's stunt blade bent because until Episode 3 they were using thin aluminum blades. For Episode 3 they were using wonderful Carbon Fiber blades which were extremely resistant to bending and breaking.
