the SRT 10 had a viper motor in it......it had to put a huge motor in it ,just to move it.....510hp....153mph......0-­60 4.9sec.....but the lightning is a little 5.4-8 cyl.supercharged....380 hp,0-60 5.2 sec......FYI

Love the amazing sound of this truck at speed (and all the way there) the twins look way cool. Tunning this day and age allows a lot of possibilities that just couldn;t exist 10 years ago. Beautiful truck, wish my humble 2000 "L" had a set up like that !

Also, how did you go thru degreeing in your cams? I heard that it is a lenghty process and could net as much as 30-50 hp if done properly, I know you probably already know this but would like to know if you do that in house or send it off to be done and if so where? I have an F150 thats a project with the 5.4 in it.

when you updated the blower setup did you have to completely change the ignition setup as well? If so what type of fire are you having to use now to ignite your mix? With that much forced induction I would think that you had to totally redesign your spark delievery to get maximum burn from your fuel. I would like to think that running 101 would have given you better numbers on your pull even with a safe tune, do you have your nos in place yet?

Cool setu! My friend had one on his Chevy with the same blower setup. He went to a single turbo and made more power. The end result was it took to much power to turn the blowers.

all those mods at it only made 788hp? it seems like all the motor mods and the single twin screw should of made that power alone. is that extra supercharger helping or hurting the performance capabilities? dont get me wrong it looks sick but i really thought a fully built motor with 18lbs of boost with a extra blower would of tapped 1000 hp easy. any newer vids with more hp?  any track vids?

As I previously stated, this was just the first test run to get our base fuel tables and transfer function correct. The test timing was set very low as we did not know how much boost it would create. The fuel was only 101 which is good for final compression ratios of about 15.5.

The first test showed 20-21psi so further testing came to a stop. If we started adding any substantial timing to the engine it would surely detinate. With a static compression ratio of 8.4 and boost at 21psi we have a final compression of 19.8/1 this calls for a higher octain fuel like 114-116. Yes I could continue with 101 but I would not be able to release the full potential of the engine. With correct fuel we should have 850 on the ground. We'll see.

Two superchargers is much better than one big one. If you search the internet, you will find an article I wrote with actual data comparing two small units to one big unit of equal size.

i can see that, just like two small turbos sprool faster than one large for faster boost but again im lost on why a built motor with 2 twin screws at 18psi only hits 788hp. twin turbo feeding a blower makes since to me but im lost on this one. i will do my research and look this up. again, nice truck

@mikemihalis9 Not "only 788 hp" as in its a small hp rating, but with a BUILT 5.4 ltr block with just a Pullied blower and tune there are a lot of lightnings that make that hp with 1 supercharger! This one has 2 Superchargers, 20 lbs of boost and 101 fuel octane and makes 788hp seems very low. Something like this should be in the 1000 hp range. I know a guy who has a Lightning with a KB, pullied, built short block, and a 75 shot making 580ish hp w/ 15 lbs on pump gas. 2 blowers isnt doing much.

Upgrade to LCD moniters. the bars that you see on the screen @ 2:01 is the raster scan ("blurry part") of the CRT........BAD!!..... @ 2:25 the laptop has a perfect picture.......No raster scan with a LCD or LED display..... That truck is friggin awesome very nice burnout in Part 2!!!!!!!!!!!!
