Good list but mine is better: 10.Virtua Fighter 9.Mortal Kombat 8.Killer Instinct 7.Rival Schools/Project Justice 6.BlazBlue 5.Arcana Hearts 4.Soul Calibur 3.Tekken 2.Marvel Vs. 1.Street Fighter There. It's fixed! The KOF series gets a nod but they whored it out so much that it doesn't contain the impact the other fighters have. Smash Bros. gets an honorable mention but isn't on here because it's not a fighter in the traditonal sense. But it's much better and hardcore w/o the items!

Smash bros was fine but, it was very different from other franchises. First of all, it relied mostly on environment and items, though this was a good aspect I guess, as it was unique. What allowed it to be excluded from the list, is the character balance, nuff said

DOA: bland, repetitive, plays like a boring version of mortal kombat.

Smash Bros.: fun for about a week. more for fanboys than actual gamers.

mortal kombat: why is it so low on this list? oh, wait the 3d sequels.

tekken: too low on the list.

guilty gear: shouldn't be in the top 5, maybe 10.
