I'm a FairTax volunteer, too. It'll broaden the base of tax payers by finally making illegals and other criminals pay their share, thus lowering the ammount that us honest people pay.

The Fair Tax eliminates the income tax system and the IRS. Related legislation repeals the 16th Amendment.

The Fair Tax is inclusive which means it isn't added on to retail prices, it's deducted from them, the same way income taxes are deducted from income. That's why the rate is correctly viewed as 23% rather than 30%.

Everyone gets the same rebate which cuts the effective tax rate for most people by 50% or more and completely eliminates the tax for the poor. No other tax scheme is more fair.

Fairtax is not deducted..... Repealing the income tax deducts/removes the cost of income and other production taxes (approximately 23%) from the price of all domestic products. At the retail sale, the fairtax is added back in and is 23% of final price, just like the income tax was. only we don't punish producers who produce in America anymore.
