@HotFuzz456 The big mommas are the Minmatar dreads called Naglfars, as MarieSkates said, the diamond shaped cruiser is a Hurricane, and the little speeding frigate is a Rifter. Although I prefer Amarr ships, the Naglfar is just one of the best designs in game... it looks purpose built to fuck someone's day up XD

CCP have done the best they can with PLEXes, which allow you to play without paying real money (if you're good enough). But seriously, how could the game update with no fees?

And secondly, I am playing Guild Wars currently, which will soon get a sequel. Now, GW doesn't havy any monthly fees, but all new expansions have to be bought to become playable... Perhaps CCP should do something similar, cancel the monthly fees, and start putting a price on every new expansion; they come often as it is, I don't think they would lose any money that way.

I play GW as well, and I agree it's a decent business model, but EVE is very different from GW, I have to say. Guild Wars is set around a storyline similar to those found in single player games, and people will buy the expansions for the new content, while EVE is all about the persistent world. Guild Wars succeeds as it does because the majority would play through the campaign and then not play as much, and then play again when -cont-

This is much more profitable a game if sold in a format similar to singleplayer games, as most of the gameplay takes place in the first few months of purchase, and if there were a monthly fee, the player would quite likely terminate their subscription after they finish the content, meaning less money in total payments.

EVE is contrasted, because it is played over much longer time spans (4 years for me) -cont-

So lets do the calculations:

I have apparently played for 53 months on my main account, and 21 months on my alt account. At 13 AUD a month, they have made 13(53+21)= AUD $326 off of me. If one had to pay for every expansion (there's no other way it would work) when they join, it would cost either an amount that makes them fraction of what they do now, or no new people would be attracted into buying it. Imagine paying $120+ for an online game! That's a VERY big commitment!

@Zhokul y but look at it this way...by the current 12-month plan paying method, by which they earn 11$ monthly and 132$ yearly per account...if they were to launch 2 expansions each year like they did so far and price them each 60-80$, they would earn more in the long run IMO... Plus they could introduce certain cosmetic upgrades which would require to be bought to be used. Removing monthly fees would also increase the number of players as this would make the game available to younger players..

You wouldn't believe how many people would play MMOs if only they were "free", or atleast, without monthly fees. Finally, it's not THAT hard for a younger player to pay monthly if you have some bloody initiative. Check out the ways that you can pay for once, maybe? You can mail cash, that's easy enough. Or do a bank transfer. I used to just organize the payment with PayByCash, put the information/cash in an envelope and sent it off to the US. Cost me a bit more but it was worth it.

@ImmortalCRO You don't buy the expansions, they just get released for free- there is no extra charge etc. You should rather imagine it like major content patches than an expansion itself. Thus - you pay for your monthly subscription (or not, if you can afford Pilot Licensing Expansions ingame known as PLEX) and a 1 time fee when you create your account of I think it is 5$ or the like.

lol, when I took the 14 day trial, I kind of disliked the game due to it's complex controls and so many things to take into account, but now, the more I watch the trailers for this game the more I want to get it. Perhaps the game is shitty in the beginning, but once you get the good stuff and join a faction, it becomes amazing.

The game is shitty for beginners, just like every other game. However, once you reach some skill points, once you get into a (guild), once you begin to play as a group you will notice there is more to even then just learning how to mine, the controls, etc. The game is truly a universe that we, the players control unlike any other game out there.

@DudesInternetEmpire hi basically the whole story about the factions is like this, the caldari fight gallenete, amarr fight minmatar, however caldari are also in close relation to amarr so they useually fight together, and galltene are in close relation to minamatar and somethimes help them in fights
