I like the way your play the guitar ! ^^ a lot of expression and feeling ... EXCELLENT bendings and vibrato, and .... speedless but loveless playing, i love that ;) !! Congratulations, you're great !! I'll share this video ^^ !
im gonna be honest i didnt like it at the beginning really but when it got to 50 seconds it started to change and get better. Then towards the end it was like woah. definitely one of my favs even for me commenting on it so late. :P
sweet!hes a lefty just like me! if you guys want to see how well i play guitar hero(ill have a real guitar in a couple of days), then looke at my channel!
Nice heart in your playing, a lot of people that play this style have a very sterile sound. Oh, and Steve Vai called, he wants his facial expressions back. lol
DUDE Where did u get that...im a left handed player and i look at guitars all the time and ive never seen a left handed ibanez RG in any thing but black....please let me kno...nice playin too...5 stars
Ooook,my fav so far!Great playing man,no pointless shredding, sweet melody and an absolutely balanced sound.A kind of Cambell and Wylde feeling to it or is it just me?Five stars of course!
Ok i'll bare all that in mind. I just wanted to know because i use a yamaha erg121 and they come with coil pick ups, which i don't like anyway. Also i'm a heavy metal player so i want pick ups which work well with my style and also look nice like the emg ones, but dude they're dear as hell lol.
EMGs are Active so they need a 3 prong output jack, a 9V battery and different volume and tone controls. Good news is the Ibanez guitars have the compatible jack already on them, you can use the same pickup selector and the new pickups come with the correct potentiometers. All you need to buy other than a pair of pickups is a 9V battery and solder up the deal yourself or have a guitar tech do it for you. I used to let them do it for around $30 but now I do them all myself.
Measure your pickup cavity depth. Some guitars R shallow + you'd have 2 grind or dremmel out some wood 2 fit them but they fit length + widthwise fine on the existing pickups that are mounted with rings. The direct pickup cavity R a little tighter + you'll have to buzz out a little wood in the corners to fit the pickups.
+ if you go with Seymour Duncan Blackouts instead of EMGs, you'll definitely be buzzing out wood depth as they are fatter and have exposed parts underneath that waste space.
Told ya! I detect the Satriani influence, but of course YOU have to have to talent to play not like him but his STYLE, that talent, so it's still YOUR music...did you win or what?
Hey thx for the nice words! You were also one of my absolute fav's, certainly made my top 10 (Extra points for standing, makeing rock-faces and throwing the pick)! But I think it was a fair pick by the judges. Fu¤# those guys can play!
Wow, you've met your top three influences in person. Not many people can say they've done that. We all need to provide our own inspiration, however it certainly does help to meet those we admire. Good for you. Now all you need to do is invent a time machine, so you can meet some of your other influences. I believe you're almost clever enough to do so! (Not really, but you are clever!)
Well thanks to recorded music and DVD's---they are our portal into the lives of those that have passed on. I still listen to Dimebag and Randy Rhoads and they'll be a continued inspiration for me.
My appreciation for this video increases, with each viewing. I believe that's because you created a beautiful piece of music, instead of just a guitar solo.
I really listened to the drums, bass and rhythm guitar underneath, as I created the solo, to make sure my note & rhythmic choices worked harmoniously with the backing track, rather than a "Busy Hands Going Nuts" approach.
That's a Valuable Piece of Advice I just received from Joe Satriani when I met him this past Thursday (Nov 13th)
It's not about MODES, SCALES, or What Looks Cool...it's about What is Memorable and Can Be Sung.
Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, & John Petrucci are my Top 3 influences on guitar and then there's hundreds more, but YouTube's character count limitation would spoil my attempt to list them all. lol
I like the way your play the guitar ! ^^ a lot of expression and feeling ... EXCELLENT bendings and vibrato, and .... speedless but loveless playing, i love that ;) !! Congratulations, you're great !! I'll share this video ^^ !

those pickups have to be plugged into the wall so you'll need an extention cord
Mueychacha 3 years ago
What? a 9V battery will last 3,000 hours of being plugged in. I normally change the battery for my EMG actives (same as Seymour) every 2 to 3 years.
sonicbondage 3 years ago
i was just kidding, by the way this is a really awesome solo man. you did a good job

Kamiosity 3 years ago
Thanks! Satch knows how to put the melody first, but also be technical. I always strive for a singable melody in my leads.
Nope I didn't win, but the video serves the purpose of showing my abilities and that's good enough for me.
The top 3 players were amazing technically, so I now know they were looking for "rip your face off" pure shredding insanity. lol
I'm #7 on petruccifever's top ten list and that means a lot to me as he created the contest and the backing track!
