  • <3 If you don't like him, so leave us alone !!!!!!!!! Go and listen to Justin Bieber or whatever !!!!!!!!!!

  • I am pretty sure that George Harrison himself said that he was "...proof of all Life's contradictions." He was human, trying to get closer to God. His music reflected his struggle. Friends of his (and there are many) laughed at the misconceptions; "The Quiet One" (Tom Petty said that George couldn't shut up!) "A Recluse" (just because he wasn't in the public eye every five seconds didn't mean he was a recluse) and "unhappy." Have you heard his laugh? Contagious!

  • I hope I'm not going to get flamed here but I really think this is pretty poor.

I really like All Things Must Pass' and 'Living in The Material World' has some good songs too.

But I really hate this dreadful tuneless stuff he produced after. The whole sound is plodding and its pretty average stuff. His voice is struggling too.

Maybe it was just the '70's but this is so terrible bland.

  • Not a bad song. Too bad it was on an album that Harrison personally considered his worst!

  • Comment removed

  • One of his best songs.

  • La cover in italiano venderebbe milioni di copie. Intanto, la melodia è bella e tutta la canzone ha questo incedere felpato e sinuoso allo stesso tempo, anche se vocalmente qui George non è il massimo riesce a trasmettere emozioni intense.

  • One true and pure HATER - different names/accounts: Frightwolf, TwoUselessLegs, ArgentinaExpel4Fraud, thegrinch7, CubanCheGuevara. Possibly the only person on YT who hates George with passion. Very desperate public masturbator or something. Must be.

  • beautiful!

  • Soul full and sincere from a very deep song writer. When I first heard this album, I hated it, apart from the opening You. However after many listens, the whole album isnt bad. Infact he should have joined 'Read All About It' with Darkhorse Lp and made it a double album of mournful soul searching songs.

George seemed to produce better albums when he worked with a co-producer. All Things Must Pass & Cloud Nine & Brainwashed are brilliant, his other albums aren't bad. I Love his songs.

  • Hey FrlghtWolf ==>> before you acuse others, make sure you first take a good look at yourself... but then again, no need, for I'm sure your just PERFECT!

  • Extra Texture is a great Album one of the best ever !!!!

  • Hare Krishna, it sounds like he's choked up emotionally in this song, one of my Favorites!

  • Don't be so hard on the ones that you love

  • Also, *their - before the spelling police jump all over me ;-)

  • @sharkeysmum nobody wants to jump you, fatso

  • *legend.

  • @sharkeysmum. "Leg-End"! :)

  • If you're so happy with your life, Frightwolf, why are you always on George Harrison video clips slagging him off? People who are content with thier lives don't do that, in fact normal people just don't do that! WE GET THAT YOU HATE GEORGE HARRISON AND HIS MUSIC! You've made that loud and clear, so I don't know what you're trying to accomplish with your repetitive drivel! GH is a legnd, you're not going to convince his fans otherwise!

  • @sharkeysmum I think Frightwoof must be a Troll. I checked, and he hasn't made any positive comments on any videos at all. People who make negative comments only, and a TON of them, just like the power rush they obtain by riling people up. They don't have power in their real lives, so they create it in the cyber-world. Anonymity makes them bold. Plus, the guy's obviously a sniveling tool. Poor thing.

  • @smilinmoo - I admire and respect John Lennon. I am

deeply respectful of Paul McCatney and his considerable

talents. Heck, I even admire Ringo (Ringo knew his place).

George the plagiarizer? George the complainer? George

the Beatle who crammed religion down my throat? George

who struggled with music the very first minute to his very

    last? ...not so much!

  • @FrlghtWolf He never struggled with music, He had a right to complain after he and ringo were given a 0.8 % stake in apple corps and john and paul got 15% and as for his religious beliefs... ive got and Idea for you, dont listen to his music dumbass.

  • @BL80488 - Oh that it were that easy to avoid George's

"music". From grocery stores to elevators to waiting rooms,

    to car radios, George's rinky-dink SOFT-ROCK BUBBLE

GUM music is everywhere. He's up there blaring out of that

fucking shopping mall speaker along with all his kind: Donny

Osmand, Neil Diamond, John Denver, Abba. I've got an idea

for you: if you quit bothering ME and control the nonstop leakage

of George Harrison (Beatle-Lite) I will quit bothering you. Deal?

  • @FrlghtWolf Bubble gum, lennon sounded the same during the 70s and so did McCartney in the 1980s. And dont act like you cant not listen to Georges music, you comment on almost all of his videos. As for Beatle-lite you couldnt be more wrong. Now go post more hate about George under your SEVERAL different youtube accounts

  • @BL80488 - Look, I come back to these videos because

people like you post messages. Thus, I respond. I very

nearly don't watch any because of Google's relentless

greed in running compulsory ads. As for George, I can

indeed "watch" them. LIKING THEM proves to be much

more difficult. You might think me a "troll" but honestly, I

can't stand his music nor do I respect him as a human

being. Frankly, I see no difference between himself and

that which he professes to hate.

  • @FrlghtWolf

Extra! Extra! FrightWolf is a TWAT. (Read All About It)

  • One of my favorite songs by George. Amazing lyrics, simply moving. One of the gems on an underrated album.

  • The first verse was written by Sir Frank Crisp,

which inspired George to write the song.

  • @FrightWolf - Perhaps, because George Harrison did pass away from cancer, it will actually influence fans NOT to smoke. Perhaps his deep spirituality does inspire others to find their own faith or bring them closer to it. Perhaps something in his lyrics or guitar style has inspired a youngster to pick up a musical instrument and/or to write. I can't speak for everyone but I can say, that for me, George Harrison has inspired me in a positive way and it has nothing to do with his lifestyle.

  • The answers at the end... mind you the end is just the begining!

  • "Scan not a friend with a microscopic glass; You know his faults so let his foibles pass." was etched into a wall at FPSHOT and was one of the reasons he bought the place. It's a perfect sentiment. Forgive people.

  • @darkhoarse820 He forgave Eric Clapton and I am sure he forgave Paul and John and George Martin for keeping him the Quiet Beatle before he released the Amazing All Things Must Pass Album.

  • It's like the Book of Proverbs, (ie needs to be thought about)

  • @idle44 George loved the Lord and respected the Scriptures although he had no use for empty religious relics and catholicism with its rules that blocked the peoples faith in God. He was very spiritual and the popes in Rome could listen to this album for their own Spiritual Health.

  • @accordionreid - Try 'Follow Me' by McCartney. That song could be a hymn.

  • @TheRockcottage Yes indeed. I love that song Follow Me. I think Paul and all the Beatles knew that their destiny was planned by a higher power named God. John Lennon seemed to have a different take on God but I don't think any of the Beatles were into dead religion with ceremonies and artifacts. They knew it was seeking from the heart that makes Follow Me even greater.

  • @accordionreid - Actually George was seriously into chanting with the Hare Krishnas and, I suspect, other Hindu religious customs. You can't throw out tradition completely when carrying on to a higher place...although ultimately it is, of course, a personal and solitary 'path' one takes...

  • @zephyr-While George was being attacked by a home

intruder, George yelled "Hare Krishna" over and over

again. In the end, it wasn't "god" or "Krishna" that saved

George but a rather large table lamp. Of course, you would

say the lamp WAS "god". Ugh! George's KARMIC preaching

was that "WE GET what we deserve". Ok! A wicked stabbing?

Cancer? What did George do to deserve this? Perhaps he

PLAGIARIZED other people's music and then, dedicated the

stolen goods to his "sweet lord"? KARMA?

  • @FrlghtWolf - He didn't plagiarize intentionally. He said he didn't and I believe him. My theory is that on some deep, profound level, George could well have chosen to suffer at the end of his life in order to get rid of all the bad karma he had accumulated with all the strangers in the world whom he had affected in his life in not so positive a way due to his fame. That way, after death, his spirit could be lighter and more free. I believe George would have wanted that. His music told me.

  • @zephyrquartz - I'll give you a dollar if you quit talking like YODA. "George must learn, he must"!

  • @FrlghtWolf - Who said anything about what George must have done? if you don't like what I say, that's just too bad. Your negativity towards him I find offensive.

  • @zephyrquartz -You aspire to the lofty heights of spirituality

but your anger, vanity and earthly hubris keeps you firmly

grounded. You THINK by associating with celebrities you

will somehow tap into the cosmos? It seems to me that in

order for people to follow ANYONE that individual must first

be in command of their MIND and BODY. Since George

smoked himself to death it hardly seems wise to follow such

a man. Yes? However, if you insist. By all means! Start smoking

    today!

  • @FrlghtWolf - How interesting that you seem to know me when you don't! Amazing.

  • @zephyrquartz - That you admire George Harrison at all says volumes about you. That you listen to his music says even more. None of it very good. It would be like admiring Peter Tork of the Monkees or the saxiphone player of the Dave Clark 5. What on earth must you be THINKING?

  • @FrlghtWolf - Wonder who mistreated you that you feel the need to mistreat strangers this way?

  • @zephyrquartz - Would it surprise you to learn that I am

largely happy? Would it disappoint you to know that I am

about to go on vacation and am feeling simply blissful?

Why do I get the feeling you would LOVE my airplane to

crash? That being the case, who dropped you on your

head? You know, there are people here on Youtube who

ADORE Karen Carpenter. They just think she's mighty "keen" and "nifty". They are all...to a person...fat, single

and socially awkward. How's YOUR weight?

  • @FrlghtWolf who is this stupid? quien mierda eres "frigid wood" ? go to bed that you have to go to school early tomorrow morning little child... stop... children don't drink alcohol... or take drugs... come on... to bed...!!!

  • @zephyrquartz I was thinking the same thing. Obviously, Frightwolf is a troll.

  • @accordionreid i agree

  • @HighlyIllogical77 I love this album Extra Texture so much. The songs are so radiant and mature. The lyrics seem to make more sense and hit my heart more now than in the Seventies when I first bought the Album. The Album Jacket is perhaps my most favourite of all time. No doubt.

  • @accordionreid - George seemed to embrace his material

wealth as much as the spiritual. He seemed to find a need

for a 120 bedroom house in order to be happy. Owned a

large race car collection. He lectured people on taking care

of the planet and ones own health and then literally SMOKED

HIMSELF TO DEATH, plagiarized other people's music and

bitterly condemned the Beatles as "unimportant" and even

"boring". You know, we can feel sorry for George...but there's

no need to LIE for him.

  • @FrlghtWolf And he was willing to give that all up in a heart beat, but, he was urged to continue to make music. If not urged, he would of given all of his possessions up,and he gave so much back. Why couldn't he enjoy his own life? And again, he can enjoy himself can't he? And he did take care of the planet, and he smoked, we all have our flaws. And what songs has he plagiarized? "My Sweet Lord" was not plagiarized. And he was bored by them, so what? His own opinion.

  • @bloodtimer - This is interesting...this celebrity

worshiping. The very same behavior you would

despise in a Wall Street executive or an unprincipled

neighbor you think is OK in George? His status

as a Beatle means his message was amplified:

Take care of your body, but you can SMOKE.

Resist MATERIALISM but embrace it! Take care

of the planet, but you can fly a carbon spewing

Lear jet back and forth while you build your 2nd

massive estate in Hawaii. What's wrong with you?

  • @FrlghtWolf It's not celebrity worshiping, merely stating facts. And honestly, I think everyone deserves to have the truth spoken for them. Whether saint or tyrant, and you do realize that the evils of smoking were not very publicized yet? And he was saying to resist greed, sure, he enjoyed himself, maybe went overboard but still. Who are we to judge contemplating how much good he has done? And you look only on the bad side of things. Why are you so hypercritical?

  • @bloodtimer - Smoking has been known to be a killer since the 1930s. By the 1950s it was already being proposed in congress to label cigarrettes with warnings. Some even called for tobacco to be banned all together. The powerful Tobacco Lobby in Washington made sure none of it happened until the 1960's. By 1963 they introduced "filters" which would mitigate the dangers of smoke (they said). George KNEW (as we all did) that SMOKING WAS INSANE. George was a hypocrite.
  • @FrlghtWolf Alright, so he smoked. But, he was not an alcoholic, and he still lived a very generous life.

  • @bloodtimer - Yes. George lived in a 120-room mansion. George was very "generous" to HIMSELF!

  • @FrlghtWolf That he was, but he was also VERY generous to others.

  • @FrlghtWolf The first scientific evidence that smoking was cancer inducing was published in Germany in the late 1930's. After 1945 the papers were suppressed by the the USA tobacco lobby as it was deemed 'Nazi'. Everybody (especially men) smoked in the 1960's and 70's. And most of them are still alive. So now relax.

  • @idle44 - Everyone "smoked"...but only George

went on to PREACH health and spirituality with a

cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Having the

mantle of the Beatles behind him he probably did

more harm than good. He likely was responsible

for a great number of smoking related deaths if not

just his own. Christ, he might as well have worked

for the tobacco industry. Interesting: the kind of

hypocrisy you would never tolerate in a friend or

    neighbor, you tolerate in celebrities?

  • @FrlghtWolf

Don't be so hard on George Harrison, man! Have you listened to the lyrics at all?

You need to worry less about who smoked and more about why you sound like somebody peed in your cornflakes, IMHO.

Sorry if I missed your point.

  • @blardosplats - I love and respect the Beatles. I do not,

however, very much respect George Harrison. There was

something of a hypocrite about him. He often preached

one thing then, did the other. He was clinically depressed

in my opinion but instead of being honest about it, George

chose to masquerade around with this silly "Krishna"

nonsense. Who needs to live in a 120 room mansion? Then,

the man literally SMOKES himself to death! I mean who could

    ever follow such a man?

  • @FrlghtWolf

All I can think of right now...

    1. Have you listened to the song? Don't be so hard on your friends. Listen.

    2. Krishna is only 'silly' to you. OK, me too, but still...

    3. No one is asking you to follow him. You might learn something from him.

    4. George was one fourth of The Beatles, take it or leave it. I mean, Jim Croce sang "You say you love the baby, but then you crucify the man". Which side of your mouth should I listen to, then?

  • @blardosplats - I find both George and his music a

serious compromise in the overall quality of whatever

the Beatles were. A lifetime complainer and smoker,

the man literally CRUCIFIED himself. I have listened

to George's words and find them an awkward brand of

simply awful poetry: "I don't know how you were DIVERTED

you were PERVERTED, INVERTED, ALERTED"! My

god, if he had been a college english course he'd have

gotten an "F". As for his personal life, what a hypocrite!

  • @FrlghtWolf Your name FrlghtWolf reflects the person you are and especially when it comes to your view of George Harrison and his person. It is You (whoever you are) that is diverted, perverted, inverted and definitely alerted to making stupid and false comments about George Harrison.

  • @accordionreid - Little wonder you admire George. You too seem to lack writing skills.

  • @FrlghtWolf Be serious man, above defects which any ordinary person is decked out (he never claimed to be a Saint or Master), his music speaks for itself and gives us the measure of his sensitivity ... Although not perfect, like all of us, he had the intelligence to sense where could be the real for us all... He said the right direction and was a brilliant artist. What more? God will know his own. Stop judging people and holds you from yourself.

  • @As75757 - I am "serious". While he never claimed to

be a "saint" neither did he object to the mantle of being

the "spiritual" Beatle. My contempt for George starts

and ends with his dishonesty. This humble guru masquerade.

The man railed against the evils of MATERIALISM while living in a 120-room mansion! He preached health, then literally

SMOKED HIMSELF TO DEATH. He claimed he hated "fame"

but never said "no" to an interview. More important: have you

    EVER seen this man happy?

  • @FrlghtWolf Again, why this resentment? What Harrison reveals you of you? Why do you ask Harrison what you yourself are unable to do, that is, to agree with your ideals? Did Lennon was? George was focused on spiritual matters, fascinated by India and spirituality, existential questions. You can not deny him his sensitivity on the grounds that it has not been exemplary. He did not, so what? It was just a human. You are rigid.

  • @FrlghtWolf And substance of your question : know that someone can live in a mansion and smoke, and be more spiritually evolved than a true ascetic. It is you who's falling into the trap of looking to judge the mind of a person. You had never been a close.

  • @As75757- Of course, one can live in obscene luxury

and preach the evils of materialsim. Heck, you can claim

to be a "vegetarian" and eat lots of meat. You can even

press the car accelerator and the brake peddle at the

same time. Would it matter to you if you discovered that

George's "spiritual focusing" were really a cover for his more

earthly rage? Anger that his music was ignored? I think it's

fair to call George on his shit since he very often did it himself

    with others.

  • @FrlghtWolf Yep. I have seen him happy, plenty of times.

  • @FrlghtWolf Why do you call him a hypocrite? He worked bloody hard for every penny he made. He never said he was joining a monastery, for pity's sake. He was a bit overzealous sharing his newfound spirituality at the beginning, but basically, from what I've read (and watched) by people who knew him well, is that he was a loving, generous human who loved his friends, family, music and God, as well as gardening. He didn't try to convert anyone, or say that he was living 100% Holy.

  • @smilinmoo - Ugh! Why does George continue to attract

such an uneducated fan base? Trying to say that George

was a musical "genius" because he was a Beatle is like me

saying my Corolla is a Lexus because they're both

Toyotas. George's PREACHING (see "GH on the Soul")

might have been tolerable had he had redeeming musical

talents. His biggest "hit" turned out to be PLAGIARIZED.

I'm fed-up with the myth-making that goes on here. George

struggled with music. End of story!

  • @FrlghtWolf Ugh! Why are Trolls so pathetic? There is something warped about a person who spends his/her time spewing hate anonymously while they sit alone in their tiny, dark room, surrounded by junk food wrappers and wallowing in their own dirty underwear and bad breath odors. Hey, you called me "uneducated," I guess I can make my own assumptions about you as well. End of Story.

  • @FrlghtWolf HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE WORDS "APPRECIATION", "LIKE VERY MUCH" "SOMEHOW REPRESENTING ME" ......PLUS YOU ARE NOT IN ANY WAY OBLIGED TO AGREE OR DISAGREE..... WE ARE FREE TO BELIEVE AND SHARE WHAT WE LIKE........IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DELETE IT.....

  • @videocorridor PLUS HE PROBABLY TOOK A DIFFERENT DIRECTION THAN YOU DID......SO WHY YOU DONT CONTINUE ON YOUR PATH AND LET OTHERS CHOSE THEIRS, IN FULL RESPECT OF EACH OTHER.

  • @videocorridor - I believe I am "free" to agree

or disagree as well. However, if you will notice,

I do so without benefit of yelling. Writing in caps

doesn't make you right, it just makes you louder!

  • @FrlghtWolf I don't get where you say George "preached" about anything. He basically was a flawed man, who was loved by his friends, family and the people who enjoy his music. He is an interesting person because he is complex, human and tried to get close to God during his life. He also tried to quit smoking. Read more about the guy before you criticize. I always got the impression he just wanted to love God. You're sure a judgemental sort, aren't you?

  • Don't be so hard on the ones that you love! How beautiful of a sentence is that? Only a Beatle could write that. It somehow makes all you need is love more concrete. Thanks for your love, George!

  • puts things into perspective just right

  • Very good song...Congratulations..Saludos desde Chile...

    5""""""""""

  • can you say UNDERRATED???

sadly, it's a word that always seems to go along with George Harrison

i like how he says isnt it a pity in this song too. god his music makes me feel so refreshed and spiritual! <3

  • @BeatlesGirlx1965 I think George wasn't for everybody, maybe not "commercial"enough? Well, that's what made him special, at least in my life, his music made a big difference. George forever.

  • @BeatlesGirlx1965-There's no such thing as "underrated".

The public, the critics and history either likes you or they don't.

"Underrated" becomes a kind of inside code word for "why don't

people like George like I do"? I believe it's quite the opposite:

considering George's pedestrian guitar playing, his rather weak

and high-pitched voice, I think George received far more praise

than he deserved. In the end, George hitched a ride to fame on

the coat-tails of John & Paul.

  • :) :) :) :)

  • I love this song, it`s a great George`s song, lovely

  • can, please, anyone tell me where can i find the brilliant psycedelic poster of George's which happens to be the first photo of this video? i tried ebay, amazon..but nothing.

  • try to search "Avadon", that's the artist

  • that picture happens to be a cd cover for George's album "What Is Life"

  • A brilliant album and massively underated at the time. I bought the album on the first week of release and thought it was brilliant. No one else was interested at the time - but I think there is money in it for some cover band ....?

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! I'm trying desperatly to find an MP3 of it on all the MP3 search engines. I tried MP3 Raid, MP3 Realm, Skreem MP3, Songsearch...NADA, NOTHING. The only song you can get from "Extra Texture" is "You", and i can think of alot better songs from that album besides "You". can someone PLEEZE help me?

  • Beautiful video for an absolutely brilliant man! Thanks for the post!!

  • i love George he is so brillant and he has a beautiful voice!

  • A pity you are gone that early!

  • Awesome Video. I've always loved this song.

    Thanks so much !!!

  • Thank you for posting.

    Always loved this song.

  • Brilliant George! An incredible ode to friendship. Great and talent artist!
