  • Oh, come on don't be so miserable. At a time when all our news seems to be about hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, wars, famines, and a world economic meltdown - a few hours of pure romantic escapism can't be so bad can it? And if it is why did 2,000,0000,000 people chose to watch it? More, I should think, than any inauguration of a President of the United States of America.

  • @sandallr That means that about 3-4 billion people 1) dont care 2) dont have time to watch TV 3) dont have a TV set, 4) have brains and not interested in these living relics of history, as they are proven frauds, murderers, thieves and opressors of other nations. Great Britain became great because they have stolen almost everything they have during the empirical era, and after that the industrial revolution, where they have stolen many inventions and killed/blackmailed/opressed many inventors

  • @JangosSoulja. Great Britain, like many other countries, got rich by the slave trade. But it was Great Britain that made it illegal in 1772, 4 years before the American Revolution. It was Granville Sharp's land mark action which obliged Lord Chief Justice Mansfield to declare in court that "the state of slavery is...so odious, that nothing can be suffered to support it...". Since then Britain has been at the very forefront in the battle for human rights - let us not forget that.

  • @sandallr you forgot the forced sale of opium to china as well, lets not let that fact be swept under the rug

  • @elrugged1. You are certainly right - it is not a period of British history one would wish to remember but, after the Chinese had begun to behead British subjects to stop the opium trade, Britain naturally had to act and, as the times dictated, with gun boats. Britain's aggression, to perpetuate the sale of opium, maybe contrasted with the actions of British missionaries who, at the same time, fought to stop the cruel practice of binding the feet of young girls. Swings and roundabouts perhaps?

  • Down with the royal lizards!

  • this is ridiculous, who cares that 2 billion are interested in the marriage. who cares.

  • did anyone see the queen on WWE ?? last week?
