God I love this guy. He creates so much energy wherever he goes. We had the honor of hanging with him as well as him playing a few charts on our concert. He is funny as hell too. All around a genuinely great person.

Just saw Duffy in a special guest performance here in UF playing alongside the University of Florida Jazz band, directed by Gary Langford. Duffy is a character, and amazing on the drums... no wonder he's the best!
Duffy is SUCH a great musician: he makes it SO much fun for EVERYONE in the group to play when he's on set, when he's scatting, or even when he's just listening and "feelin' the groove", hahaha. I've had the pleasure of playing sax while he was on set, and he's just incredible to play alongside. He's a great PERSON too: he's funny, has more energy than anyone you'll ever meet, and encourages EVERYONE to take part in "the groove.
I heard he moved to Tennessee now actually. He was living in Florida though. I learned a lot working with him too, he has so much knowledge about music, he's played with EVERYONE.

Duffy is in a very small category of one of the last true Jazz Gods. Best thing about him is he started so early, and is still relatively young. His multiple gifts are almost frightening ... only a true angel can project the Light of God the way Duffy does. I've heard of the new big blockbuster film he'll be appearing & playing in. I know there'll be many more. thank God for Angels, yeah?
Duffy is da bomb! I was in his graduating class at Beach High in '72. He was active musically back then. A kickass drummer. He wears coke bottle glasses and has a club foot. I was lucky enough to catch him and his dad when they were playing the Florida coast clubs back in the day. They kicked ass. Duffy is also a damn good pianist.
Finally, there is hope for white men aspiring to scat.

I've loved Duffy Jackson ever since I saw him play with Monty Alexander at Ronnie Scott's a few years back. This man SWINGS. I mean REALLY SWINGS.
