Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Robotnik should have been enough related character's for the game. They could have put in a character from Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Vectorman, Altered Beast, Kid Chameleon, Shinobi, or even Ecco and Ristar. I'm tearfully happy that Beat from JGR made it in, love that shit.

Super UNDERRATED game. It has a plethora of some of the best designed, colourful & unique tracks I've ever seen in an arcade racer. The characters are plenty, and they're all very well detailed and animated. The music's top notch too. And it's pretty addictive. I had this game on release, and it still ROCKS!

Finally someone here says something smart! Take out Big and put in NiGHTS as a racer! NOBODY LIKES BIG! But the reason that this game is "copying" Mario Kart is because Mario Kart is part of the Cartoon Racing GENRE! Games within the same GENRE will have obvious similarities. That's why they are catagorized into GENRES. So before saying that Mario Kart is the only ORIGINAL game in this GENRE, please keep in mind that this is a GENRE of a GAME!

I have to admit I actually like this game better than Mario Kart Wii. Mario is fun, don't get me wrong, but the difficulty level here is much high than in Mario Kart, always a plus. The tracks feel more dynamic as do the character/kart selections. While both are fun experiences, I actually would recommend this more. Plus it's about half the price of Mario Kart used or new so that's another plus for the economically challenged.

Actually, I like this game. Bought it for my nephew because he had no multiplayer games. I like the fact that it acknowledges Alex Kidd, Ulala, B.D. Joe and other SEGA classic characters that seemed to have been forgotten by the mainstream lately and remembered only by loyal fans.

I love the Genesis, Saturn and Dreamcast (Never had a Master System, sadly) and its nice to see SEGA do their characters some cameos.
