  • Yes I do actually powerlift, and so does louie simmons, dave tate, jim wendler along with many others who i read and all support my thoughts. If you hit a weight in a gym training setting. you should know without a doubt that you can hit it in the meet with an aroused state of mind and a psych up especially with a peak. Imagine tom brady only throwing passes he was 100% sure he could throw, "no risk no reward" you cant be afraid to fail, rarely do top powerlifters go 9/9 in a meet

  • Well, you knew the form wasn't good, but really the biggest thing you need to fix is to sit back into the lift, drop your butt down and push your shoulders back from the very beginning, it should almost look like wide stance box squat, do that and you'll hit over 400 easy.

  • Also, form is paramount. If you are "curling" 120 lbs. and you have to bend your back and use your legs to get it all the way up, that says nothing for your biceps. If I partial squat 550, that is telling me nothing about my hamstrings. Bigger weight does not always mean stronger.

  • If you compared the work you did to a standard deadlift, this isn't too much to be proud of. Sumo lessens the distance plus you are short, so the full range of motion is drastically reduced. Imagine two scenarios: Benching all the way down to your chest, and benching where your forearm and humerus create a 90 degree angle (maybe 12 in. above chest). Which is the harder workout? Who is performing more work. Work is foce times distance so the person touching his chest, is getting more work done.

  • it's possible he could be 150 lbs because he looks like he has very low bodyfat. the form wasnt the best when u brought it up, your back rounded and you leaned too forward which could really do some damage. but other than that, bringing up 365 is quite impressive.

    Lifting half the weight with form is way 100% more effective than lifting double the weight with bad form, and control.
