I never said, "I was happy the kid was dead" I said I was glad the police shot him, to protect the other children. I think Columbine and Virginia Tech has taught us not to be patient with kids that bring guns to school. The kid was also 15, obviously held back and stupid and a product of Bad Parenting.

I don't consider myself a liberal or a conservative. I just go by what I think is going to work best in a particular political or legal situation. In this case, I believe that if a person breaks into a person's house then he better not be surprised to get shot. I don't see why people are not allowed to wear guns in these rural areas unconcealed in a holster or belt. If people see a gun, they are less likely to takes liberties. There are 250 million guns in America-gun control will never work.

Im glad she shot the guy but after twenty minutes for them to break in?If my home was being broken into and I wanted to protect my child I wouldnt wait until theyre actually in my home before taking action. Firing a warning shot, let them know I had a gun. Makes me think that she just wanted to kill someone because of the recent tragedy in her life.

The mom in Oklahoma called 911 to ask if its okay to kill the intruder once he came through the door. The intruders took 20 minutes to break into the house in which time she could've actually used that time to call police to her home. Guy breaks in armed with only a knife and she shoots him. It sounds like she waited to ambush him since I'm sure he'd run off after seeing a gun just as his friend did. Okay, she had bad breaks in life but that doesn't make it okay to kill. Premeditated.

@marshdell I can't say I agree. She called 911, and the 911 dispatcher called the police. She lives out in the country and they're no police in her area. This guy, the attacker, was much bigger than she was and he had a 12 inch hunting knife. That's a big knife-you could easily decapitate a person with a foot long hunting knife. She's a tough cookie, she was so calm for being only 18. She's a country girl-they usually know how to handle firearms. Last year another Okie woman shot a burglar.
