@nin56665 Its only better because it was mixed right for an actual album release. This track is WAY better than what ended up on the album, if only because it isnt the SAME TRACK. The only difference between the remix on the album and the actual song is that its slowed down.

I really dk wut to think of this song. I agree with higgins..it does sound un-profecional. Sounds more like a band starting out, just mixin beats. It's not BAD, but they're capable of a hell of alot better

@higgins989uk it sounds this way for a reason, and you have to be familiar with the ARG for year zero for it to really make sense, but saul is supposed to be playing a mental patient who is singing along with the song, which is why the vocals sound the way they do. it is intentional.

@higgins989uk yeah, when i heard it first, i also felt pretty wtf about it, especially since i was pretty fond of saul's earlier work. the lyrics to this are also very good. saul actually helped trent with year zero's lyrics a bit, which totally shows. i'd say year zero has some of nin's best lyrics.

it sounds like saul just took a NIN song and recorded himself blabbing over top of it with a cheap computer microphone, and then the mixing was done in sound recorder

I agree that the recording of Saul's vocals does sound a bit shitty, which may be by design, but I think that this version succeeds in taking the song to a new aural landscape.
