@glmike523 < We're not allowed to run anywhere on a scene. At a car accident we'll tend to up step a bit but at a fire there is no exceptions, you WALK. There are hoses and other hazards abound, not to mention our heavy gear and boots. It's a safety thing and more important it's a calm thing. Running is a sign of excited immaturity when we as professionals need to calm, cool and collected. It's important to walk cool to the event, take in the scene and form a decided plan not just run loose.
@Truck3CFD < Shut your East Coast vagina. You East Coasters never want to fight fire, you just want to stand outside and make sure the foundations are nice and clean so there's less for the demo crew to clean up. Out here in Cali we actually go in and put fires out.
@gnockergnutz The only fire u see is from a hydrant so do us all a favor shut the fuck up and if u have something against us, say it to our face asshole
Good call on the evacuation since their exit was compromised. NOT being on the fire ground however, would entry on side 3 or 4 with a 21/2 give a quick knock down. I am really concered about exposures 1 and 4.
Do you see how the house is built on those two support beams in the front? Knowing the NJ guys I am guessing the Chief did not want the advancing into that room and having it collapse on them. Spend more time on exposer and extension to the residence next door. I do see they were blowing some steam out that window and look like they were knocking it down, thats what I could see from the video. I can't arm chair quarterback this one, I was not there, That is what our chief might have done.
I love the way the fire fighters just walk into the building...Fuck that!

WOW, never did I think I'd see an east cost fire dept on INTERIOR attack. Usually you guys just stand outside smoking while shit just burns away.

agree, interior team seemed liked they were just about to knock it down when the IC called for the EVAC. Guess he saw something the vid didn't show.
