Henry Cavill is going to be fantastic! He's so gorgeous and will have the "presence" that the superman character needs. I am not so keen on what they've done to him though. I think cavill was a good choice. The suit looks great. I´m just hoping they don´t put Clark Kent as a dorky, goofy, shy kind of guy. I really hate that Clark Kent, the one that think´s he´s really superman and C.K. it´s just some glasses that he uses when he´s not figthing crime. It should be the other way around. Superman it´s just some suit that C.K. uses when he has to show his powers in public.

I don't know anything about Henry Cavill but he looks close to how I imagine Superman would be. I see the character in him and not the actor (or a clone of another actor playing the character).
He could be what Bale is now for Batman, replacing Keaton's "classic" version.
Routh was fine as Superman but he reminded me a lot of Reeve more than the role he's playing. I liked Reeve's take on the Man Of Tomorrow back then but that era is passed and this may be the superman of this time.

Routh looked too dainty to be a good Superman, and his acting was terrible, even though it was just a terrible movie all the way around, Spacey and Bosworth were both pretty flat in my opinion. K I know the people are trying to make the suit look more modern and the portrayal of Superman is supposed to be dark, just like any other hero today, but the changes of the suit are a little too much for my taste. I just hope they keep his principle's or else this will never be a real superman movie.

@bregues i actually like the texture,, dont forget that in the comic book, his superman suit was made out of material from his planet Krypton, that was in his spaceship,, and they made the suit out of that Kryptonian material!! now the superman suit from the other movies, did the material look at all Alien ? like it would have came from another planet ?? no it didnt,, this material looks more alien, its better to explain it is kryptonian material that his suit is made from !!!!

I don't know anything about Henry Cavill but he looks close to how I imagine Superman would be. I see the character in him and not the actor (or a clone of another actor playing the character).
He could be what Bale is now for Batman, replacing Keaton's "classic" version.
Routh was fine as Superman but he reminded me a lot of Reeve more than the role he's playing. I liked Reeve's take on the Man Of Tomorrow back then but that era is passed and this may be the superman of this time.

I wanna cry. Is that even Henry Cavill? It looks like Christopher Lambert's face superimposed. Hopefully it's just a bad angle. If this pic is any indication for the look and feel of the movie (which it's probably not since it's so early) then it's going to look like the recent Captain America movie......which is fine for Captain America but will be a disappointment as far as Superman is concerned. for the most part, I'm on board with this being Superman (by leaps and bounds no pun intended) than I am with that ridiculous looking Spider-Man outfit. It looks like it could fit a modern context, and I know why they're using the S from the DC reboot, but that takes away from the suit, and I'm not sure about his face and he looks to be almost balding. Minor details as I said, but it looks ok. I just hope he's actually physically BIG enough (as in 6'4, 225lbs) to BE the Man of Steel

The trouble with the movie industry is people aren't satisfied with anything the way it is and they keep changing things. They didn't like the old planet of the apes so they changed the story line. They don't want the old spiderman so they're getting a younger one and starting all over. This deters people. If you want a different actor, fine... Don't change the story and don't start all over!

Routh looked too dainty to be a good Superman, and his acting was terrible, even though it was just a terrible movie all the way around, Spacey and Bosworth were both pretty flat in my opinion. I think Cavill will bring a more masculine edge to this role than Routh could dream about doing.

Henry Cavill will be the most muscular Superman in the entire franchise.Tom Welling would be the second one on that list.It's obvious from the picture and his 5000 calories a day diet plus intense workout routine that by the time the film comes out alot of folks are going to be suprised and maybe even pleased by how much muscle mass the new film version Superman gained.It's straight out of the page of the Marvel comics films Thor and Captain America.This pic is only a sample of half his training

I like the suit, but Cavill needs too get a haircut, more in keeping with the short haircut that Reeve had in his superman movies. And it needs the little curl in his hair too. I just hope they keep John Willams music in it. It would pay homeage too all the past Superman movies and tv shows, (Smallville finalle). And hope the storyline is good too.
