@speedomike747 If you're thinking of "Steadicam", just like Levi's and Adidas, or in this example it's Glidecam. If you're looking for the general term for such equipment I tend to say it's a "camera stabilizing support". Saying something is Steadicam while it in fact is Glidecam ,Sachtler or something else is like saying "Ferrari" when you mean to say "Toyota". (: They have four wheels and go forwards... But it works a little different. :)
@olahaldorvoll LOL. fast reply :) But I had a quetion, what is the difference between a lens from Red: 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm ? what is the difference?
@speedomike747 RED, as in the RED One, Epic and Scarlet? Not important though.. The numbers you mention indicates how large FOV you have. 25mm for instance is wide, while 100mm is narrow, or zoomed in if you like..
@ccmsfights it costs a bit more than that in Norway though. About 12000... But I've got access to a JVC HM700 which is much easier to work with on the glidecam than the XLH1.
You can get better cameras for less price. We recently got the JVC GY-HM700. Records in XDCAM HD, anything from 1-50fps, and saves the video on SD memory cards which are a joke in regards of pricing. 32GB for less than $170! Vs. P2 or Sony EX based cameras needs special cards that can cost almost ten times more..
The Glidecam isn't perfect, but you'll learn to work around it.
@olahaldorvoll Well, it's for less money. Better? Not even close, I could email you pages of reviews regarding the Canon XL H1s(a) to be better than any JVC or Sony in this price range. Panasonics are a good second or tie maybe. The JVC GY-HM700 is a good camera though.
There are several things I don't like about the camera, but I won't say it is a bad one. For instance, it's not balanced to be used for long periods on the shoulder. And it uses tape and HDV. The viewfinder simply sucks. Except for that the camera can produce lovely and sharp images.
my iPhone 4 records better :P

nice, I want a steadicam/glidecam pretty bad. But a chunk of change is out of my pockets paying for half of a Sony Z5U. The XL H1 looks awesome too.
