I have the same guitar. It plays like a $2000 guitar. Some say I might be nuts, and going against tradition, but I changed out the pickups for a set of Epiphone '57 Classics. It sounds like a Les Paul/SG with a hint of... not sure. Love it!
guitars are versitile overall, it just depends on what part you play, lead or rythem, with the switches the jaguar is one of the few guitars that can go back in forth between lead and rythem, just watch paul banks of interpol
What do you think about the sh 5? I have a Les Paul and I´m going to buy SD pickups in it, but don´t know which one for the bridge. Sh4 JB or Sh5? I need the bridge pickup for any kind of modern rock to metal tone, not much of blues/pop/country tone needed... I also need it to sound great combined with the correspodning SD neck pickup. Anyway, thanks for a great demo!
ive got a jb in the bridge of my jackson and i love it.... it has brillant heavy tones and some nice clean tones but thats y i have a sd jazz in the neck for the cleans.....but i recomend jb
Hay! I've got the same guitar, and I'm sick of bridge pickup, it sounds like garbage. Do you like your sh-5? Is it in "soap" form, just like the stock dragsters?
cool guitar

TheCousin666 2 years ago 2

and sounds pretty well

Isn't it the best feeling guitar you've ever played? I got mine used a few months back now, and I've been neglecting my MIM Tele ever since.
I wouldn't change the pick-ups though. I love the thin single-coil sound they have.
ToyBoxMonster 3 years ago
well this is the humbucker version, so it doesnt (or shouldnt) have a single coil sound. but yeah, i know, these are awesome guitars!
texasranga 2 years ago
That was my point; the Dragster humbuckers are very thin and sound very much like single coils, but without the hiss.

how did you go about resizing the frets? must have been a major pain in the arse?

it just doesn't seem like a jag to me without the tremelo, i'd just replace the bridge with a mustang bridge

Is this guitar good for a Hard-Prog Rock style?
Or more psychedelic-distorted sounds like Omar Rodriguez Lopez in At The Drive In and The Mars Volta?
meriadoc69 3 years ago
can I install a seymour duncan distortion at the bridge and a seymour duncan pro 2 at the neck? they can create noise?

And by the way, could you send me the song you're playing ? Can't find it xD
dashoz 3 years ago
That's cool I have a 1962 Jaguar. I got it back in 1969. I repainted it in the mid 80's. It has all original switches, pick-ups and wiring.

does anybody now if the seymour duncan SH-5 sounds good if you combine it with a ebony fretboard?
RemySin 3 years ago
why does every demo of this guitar have to be flanged? haha
tragictravistie 3 years ago
did you find out the original radius of the fretboard? i have one of these, but im pretty sure it's 9.5, not 7.25 as on fender's site
tragictravistie 3 years ago
I think so too. The man who fixed the fredboars said, that the original radius was nere by nine.

Omasta päästä ne repäsin. Pitää kattoa jos vaikka jaksasin soinnuttaa tämän ja julkasta Popedan kokoontumisajoissa sointuosiolla.

It is not so hard, to be better pick-up than the stock one:}. Can you get some twang of of this PU? Can you splitt it, to a single coil mode?
DanzigerWolf 3 years ago
Yes it can be splitted to single coil. I´m not looking for twang on this guitar, thats why Stratocasters are.
tubegixxeri 3 years ago
How long have you been playing?
WoWVana 3 years ago
Few years. Been some years I haven´t even touch the guitar. I should practise more but I´m too lazy hah hah...

you are fuckin good

DanzigerWolf 3 years ago
It´s normal sh-5 Duncan. Trembucker model fits better on this guitar. SH-5 is ten times better than original pickup.
