@hulk239239 Potassium Sulfide (chemical formula K2S, not to be confused with Potassium Sulfate - K2SO4) is water soluble, damn! Whatever you need it for (I do not even dare to guess, it is your problem, and possibly a bigger problem for someone else), just add water!

@hulk239239 I've seen them both in bottles so they are (they are used in smaller doses in general anaestesia so they are not lethal in small doses). First is Sodium Thiopental, which is fast barbiturate and causes instant uncounciousnes (however, in lethal injections, it is administered in higher dose, so this first step coud be lethal alone). Second is Pancuronium Bromide, a musscle relaxant, and it shoud prevent violent spasms, also it can cause death by paralising breathing. (...)

Administering of Potassium Chloride alone would be enough to kill anyone, as it acts on nerve and muscle cells causing all muscles to contract (including heart muscle), but this, even if short, would be extremely painful for condamned and unpleasant for viewers. Potassium Chloride is, by allmost everything, incredibly limilar to Sodium Chloride (ordinary salt), it can even be used in the same manner (for salting a dinner)...

So it is not a toxic chemical, even more, it is essential for life and every living human or animal has it in own blood in small concentration, finely balanced with other chemicals in body. What is acheved in lethal injection is actually disrupting that balance. (You could do same if injecting large amounts of solution of ordinary salt or sugar or whatever you may think of... it's not about the chemical, it is about balance)

@hulk239239 I must admit I have no idea of dose used in lethal injection, but I guess it is many (tens, hundreds) times larger than minimum lethal (I guess they do not take a chance). About mixing with water, of course. Even if you would manage somehow to inject powder into blood, it would dissolve in water, as water is major compound of blood. Only dissolved it can get to cells and act, no other way.

It is even stupider that California wants this especially when the state's economy isn't doing that good. I have read the evidence on serial killer Robert Rubane Diaz. There was not any real evidence to convict him. He worked in a old & broke hospital & the doses of lidocaine were not uncommon in a deceased patient. He has been in prison for 20 years - he's 70 & he may be innocent. Even if he was guilty there was not enough actual evidence to convict him . There have been many people released by DNA technology proving their innocence. It's a tough thing to judge others.

They took the chairs out of the chamber and put in a gurney to do lethal injections. But now another fucking Jew judge has said that lethal injection is cruel and unusual punishment. Re: Scott Peterson - I believe that he is guilty of that horrible crime. He should be locked up for life with no possibility of parole. That is a worse sentence than death, in many ways. San Quentin is NO country club.

It used to be possible for citizens of California to do so. However, it is restricted to media and case connected individuals now. States that do have provisions for citizen witnesses by law - Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Missouri, Arizona. Texas is just as restrictive as California.

Why is the old gas chamber still used for lethal injection? When California abolish the gas chamber, why didn't they build a new death chamber. The locks on the door make it harder to get to the prisoner in time if a stay is called or clemency is granted.

Historic significance. The execution chamber had been there since 1938. Also, at that time injection was established, gas remained an alternative. They didn't have any available space that was open for a seperate facility at that time. The lethal injection protocol worked just fine in the old gas chamber at San Quentin, just as it does in Nevada. Unlike the movies, there are extensive precautions and last minute verification phone calls to take place before an execution starts.
