we call them Osage oranges, as for the metal you found in the bottle dump it looks to me like a strap from a lady's garter belt used to hold up stockings
we have them too here in Illinois..we call ours Hedge apples..They come from a Hedge Tree..They cut the tree's here for fence Post..they are not straight tree's at all.Good Video
hay ,Yuleah , I just got to say, I love your Yulelah theme song , I go to work singing it, nobody that does any digging , would know that tune, All I got to say is God pleases and may you find happyness in everything that you do , and good health, thanks Fred
That lock you found is old i found one myself here is some info on the lock. The RFD marking is for rural free delivery and the label was given to outlying rural areas which the government designated as being entitled to free mail delivery. Before rural free delivery those who lived in these areas had to travel to a distant post office to pick up their mail or pay for private mail delivery. Rural free delivery was introduced around 1896 and RFD mail routes continued for several decades.
Cool video Yulelah, that bottle dump looks real promising. Go back there with a 4 prong potato fork and see what's hiding under the leaves and soil. I look forward to seeing what you find. Those bottle have some real nice color to them. I'll be watching for your next video. I see all your snow is gone, we just got another 8 inches of it last night.
You are definitely onto a great site - for bottles at least - and the good ones will be there. I'm looking for to your next video - Cheers and good hunting.
