This is the version that was popular in England and often played on radio when I was a very small boy. I associate it with gales that blew our fences away early in 1947!
This isn't the recording we had on cassette but it's a great song. I'm only 21 but I love this song. We've lost so much in the charts. You listen to classics like this back when people really could actually sing and it knocks it into perspective what bab there's around today.
I remember this song from a record we had when we were kids. I sing it whenever my daughter asks me to open the door. She didn't think it was a real song.
I listen to swing AND hip hop. Yeah dog.

This has got to be one of the most surreal songs I ever heard, lmao! Very cool though - I'm loving that swing it's got.

I like this verson by the others. Has more of a swing sound to it and not so black.

This is a good recording, and the Merry Macs were very good singers. Sorry if Pigmeat and his pals are rolling in their graves.

This version is the whitewashed version. Dusty Fletcher, Jack McVea, Louis Jordan, and Pigmeat Markham are rolling in their graves.
